haha, it's awesome

picked up my copy, and we're rocking it out as we speak(type) omg

some of the songs are only accessible if you get a 5 star performance and then do an encore

the guitar controller is even much improved over the old one (buttons don't make such a loud click anymore, and the whammy bar feels a lot more solid)

the co-op mode kicks absolute ass

The crowds look waaaay better. The new guitar is a bit nicer too. It responds better to wailing. The whammy bar feels tighter which is good. All the encore songs rock. Trogdor is fuckin awesome. So far I love this game.

Oh and maybe I'm the only one that see's the irony of having a Nirvana song in Guitar Hero?

Gonna start working on hard and expert stuff tonight. Really great follow-up to GH1 imo. Hanger 18 and Thunder Horse are probably my favorites thusfar and Jordan is just completely retarded on hard/expert.

overall, i'm finding that most of the songs are more difficult than in the first game

that being said, I really liked the original song list quite a bit better

Hard mode GH 2 = Expert Mode GH 1

Expert Mode GH 2 = Might as well be a real guitarist.

I think the last set on expert is impossible. And fuck getting 5 stars on all of expert.

I always had issues with the hammer-on's and pull offs

Expert mode is all about the careful use of star power.

not really
if you're doing it right, you should always end up with a full bar right before the chorus or the solo's

it's not rocket science

Say that to Hangar 18 on expert.

When you buy guitar hero II with the guitar controller, can you play with two people using one guitar, or does every player need their own guitar?

it's pretty hard to both play at once with a single guitar.....

you can just take turns and try to beat each other's score, but playing at the same time is $$$ imo

I haven't done the co op yet and my GH 1 controller broke so I have to go get a new one. I wonder if you can buy the standalone GH2 controller?

you can

lots of people are making 3rd party controllers, for about $40

some are wireless even

most of them just look like various guitar models you can buy in game ;)
