Keith Ellison, a Democrat, has become the first Muslim to be elected to the US Congress by winning a Minnesota seat in the House of Representatives.

Not to be an asshole and bump this but I'd bet a fair chunk of change as to why he won:

Keith Ellison != Abdul Shikabadu

Because if his name even sounded remotely Muslim, he would have lost, yeah I think that highly of our undereducated populace.
