After trying to figure out wtf this problem was for about a week, I just reformated my computer and tried everything again to no avail.

My wireless card will pick up on available networks, but once it attempts to connect, it will minimize and give me the available networks message again (and not connect). I've gone through shpiels with d-link, comcast and tech support with the place I bought my computer (saying I need to call my isp, which told me they didn't know what to do).

When I type ipconfig in command, it just gives me

Windows IP Configuration
Ethernet adapter Network Bridge:
. Media State... : Media disconnected

and return me to prompt. I can't figure out what this is. I've tried multiple wireless cards, other computers in the house can connect fine.

Any suggestions?

Why do you have a network bridge setup?

Remove the network bridge from the adapter and make sure it's set to receive IP and DNS info automatically.

Also make sure your router has DHCP service turned on.

I don't why I have a network bridge, it just set itself up. It is now disabled. DHCP is enabled. IP & DNS recieves info automatically.

Router is cooperative.

No this is our own account. We're using a linksys. The other computers aren't having any problems either.

Plug the PC directly in to the router via ethernet and see if it works that way.

ah, excuse me I left town for a few days...

Yeah, it works fine with ethernet cord.

It's a wrt54gx2 vers. 1.01.14

That should be it.

If the IP and subnet mask you put in are valid and it's still not working, hook up via ethernet, download the latest firmware for the router and flash the firmware, even if it's the same version.

So, router LAN is set to 192.168.1.1 or something right? And you set a static IP on the wireless NIC like 192.168.1.101 right? Subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 and default gateway should be the routers LAN address, 192.168.1.1.

I still think something is fucked up with the IP setup on the card. Do another ipconfig /all and post the results. You should have entries in there for every NIC in the machine. One will be for the ethernet card and one for the wireless NIC. The connections should not be bridged.

God in your DHCP configuration on the router do you have anything setup that distributes IP addresses based on MAC address, and do you limit the range of ip addresses?
