Pacman Jones of Tennessee suspended for next season and Chris Henry of Cincinnati suspended 8 games for numerous violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Actually, these suspensions were handed down with the full cooperation of the Player's Union. Goodell had numerous meetings with Upshaw before handing them down. Remember, MUCH of the push for stronger penalties is actually coming from the player's union itself, NOT from the owners. According to one of the taglines on ESPN, some of the player reps to the union were actually pushing for a lifetime ban for at least Jones.
So, I would actually be shocked if either suspension were overturned, as if either player goes to the union and asks for their help in appealing, the union will tell them to go take a long walk of a short pier.
