The Killer's Motive.
After watching the video the killer made and sent to NBC, I believe i understand the message.
A massacre on the Wealthy, A Massacre on the blind.
I believe what his message conveys is that he he hates Americas Wealthy Elite, and their Disrespectful Offspring, With their Mercedes cars, Gold chains and Trust funds.
Perhaps one of the first extremists, Lashing out against Americas Wealthy Elite, or whom he believed them to be as wealthy elite.
Interesting, I believe this is just the beginning of what might happen in this country. America is 50/50 on alot of issues. but 95/5 on poor to well off.
The Margin will continue to grow, people will be driven down and down... Until they Eventually Break.

ohhhhhh rusteh.
Sounds kind of like you're being a little empathetic to this moron. Most rich people are rich as a result of hard work and dedication to their goals. Jealous poor people make me sick with their "poor me" attitude, because most of them are lazy, and choose to not do what it takes to be successful in this day and age. I have no sympathy for lazy whiners who have all the tools to "make it" in society yet they don't utilize those tools.

Eh... there aren't enough high paying jobs out there to go 'round. What do you expect some of these people to do? Not everyone has the aptitude to handle college level coursework. Not everyone is given the chance to make it.
You make it sound like all you have to do is just try really really hard and you too can be rich!! Maybe in your dillusional, swastika flag flying, fantasy land it does.... but in the real world.... it's not that simple.
Oh and by the way - not all rich people are so because of hard work lol. I would wager that a great deal of them got their money from the backs of others. But, you're a republican so anyone not white, male and straight is the devil and must be enslaved for the good of the.... corporation.

It is one thing to reap what you sew it is something else if you have no access or means to get the seeds.

Try reading my post again, dipshit. I said most rich people are rich because of hard work, not all of them. My world is quite realistic. I don't know where your accusations of "dillusional" come into play when referencing my world. And "swastika flag flying?" Get off the crack pipe, dickhead.

While I'm not terribly fond of the superstar daddy's money lifestyle (quite frankly it disgusts me) - how stupid could this guy be to take that resentment and focus that energy into a MASS shooting that hurt/killed not only the people he resented, but people who potentially EARNED their scholarships there and worked hard for them?
I mean hate rich people, bitch about it, protest them who cares whatever makes you feel better at night, but nothing justifies wanting them dead, and ESPECIALLY nothing justifies lumping everyone into a group and making them all suffer for your seething hatred for the minority.
I don't like people who are too lazy to get a job and live off welfare while sporting their $200 nikes, doesn't mean I'm going to go into a grocery store and shoot it up if I know there might be someone on welfare living more lavishly than necessary in there.

Well, he made himself very isolated. He was stuck in a college atmosphere surrounded by people who appear to be partying it up, living purely for their own pleasures. Rather than getting to know anyone, he made his own judgements about them and because of social isolation only continued to reinforce them within his own mind. I think that's probably a big part of his ranting about hedonism and such. The wealthy rich kids would appear to have no responsibilities because of their available resources, and he sees them day after day give in to those typical temporary pleasures so much that he thinks their lives revolve around it.
I can understand the anger towards people like that. What I don't understand is how he felt backed into a corner with only one option. Who spilled his blood and how? What kept him there? Parents? Money obligations? Who or what was he running from before, when he stated I will no longer run?
Then again, maybe I'm trying to look into this too much. I mean, he's obviously way over the edge with Jesus references and idolizing the Columbine kids.

I bet this is not actually true though. I would say most rich folks are rich because of family, not indivudual contributions made to ones carrier. Of course you didn't define rich so I'm assuming you only mean "money".
On track though, this guy was a crazy wacko that should have been locked up years ago.
There were many signs of the potential he had. What teacher have you ever known to contact police because she was so disturbed by the writings of a kid. He should have been in a mental institution.
I would guess most moderately rich people (ie, > 1 million in actual financial assets - but less than 8 million) are self-made (though through ingenuity, creativity, and financial intelligence/education far more than mere hard work), but the bulk of the uber-rich are coasting on family fortunes, inherited giant businesses, and the good-old-boy network in various sorts of forms. Just my vague impression though, I could be totally off.

I agree with you

I think it's foolhardy and perhaps even dangerous to try and find motives in the actions of a psychopath. I really think you need to examine everything that is known before you place any merit on the ramblings of someone so clearly out of touch with reality.
I doubt Cho had any real agenda with 'the rich'. From what I've seen and read about him his problems started long before he even knew the difference, probably from birth. Also he was a middle class kid from Washington, in a good school, his sister went to Princeton. That hardly smacks of poverty. I'm not buying his rationale...neither should you.
This kid was a complete, textbook, psychopath. A natural born killer of the worst kind. The only thing that stood out to me in his ramblings was when he said "you had a hundred billion chances to stop this". He did what he did to justify his own suicide. In the end he was right, he could have been stopped, maybe.
But the system dropped the ball, on every level. I'm not a big anti gun guy, I own guns myself. But how in the hell does someone admitted to a psych hospital for suicidal observation get a handgun a year later? How does someone like that not come under scrutiny from the mental health establishment? Law enforcement? The community? His family?
We can take pictures of you standing on a street corner from outer space, we can track all your phone communications, we can most likely tell whether you wear boxers or briefs. But we can't keep handguns away from psychopaths. Even one so fucking obvious.
There are 32 souls who are wondering why.
