Friend of mine asked me this and I've asked a few people and always seem to get interesting answers.

My answer was that honestly it'd probably be my worst nightmare. That might sound very bigottish but that's how I would feel. I might literally cry and I would be very unhappy about it but of course I'd still love my kid. I'd just be not too happy with him and I'd want to kill whoever introduced him to dick.

Why? I dunno really. I feel like if my kid ends up gay somehow I fucked up or didn't raise him well enough for him to be a man.

I could care less so long as their not assholes.

I think it's different with lesbians. I have three lesbian friends who switched teams. When I asked one of them "why" her response was..."sometimes you just need a cock".

On this note do people feel differently regarding female children? I've always wondered if parents that react strongly to a male child being gay would react as strongly to a female child being a lesbian.

Personally if I ever had a son who told me he was gay, I would feel sad initially, not because it disappoints me but just because I know that their life will be that much more difficult. Conversely if I had a daughter who announced that they were a lesbian, i'm not sure that I would feel as strongly.

I know gay and lesbian couples and hands down the gay couples have it tougher. Other parents don't let their children play at their house, they face public scorn whenever they are out together, things of that nature. On the other hand the lesbian couples that I know don't really face much public scorn, at least not overt in the face stuff like the male couples do.

While there are a lot of feminine queers there are just as many if not more overly masculine queers. I think you probably just notice the fems more because they are so flaming.

I don't understand this either. On the other hand I've met plenty of guys who were/are effeminent and are actually gay. I've also met guys who are totally butch typical guys and you would never know they are gay unless they told you ie MOP. sigh.

In fact I have a half brother I haven't seen or talked too since I was a kid but he was very effeminent, I don't know if he was gay or not but he was raised strictly by women.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe the "normal" guy stuff back in highschool was an act itself??? That they were acting the way they were expected to? They way everyone else expected them to? Yes, many gay men are effeminate, but then there's a number of straight men like that too, though not to the extreme some gays flame-on. It's just how they're built. Why do some jocks act like egotistical testosterone junkie uber-masculine jackfucks? Because that's how they're built. Not all of them act like that though. Very good point Triel, I hadn't thought of it that way. You're probably right about it being an act, honestly if I were gay the last thing I would want to do is act effeminent , god forbid you should appear weak in school, the kids will tear you up.

Ok, sorry - from the way you worded it, I thought you meant that what was previous was "normal" with the later effeminacy after coming out being the "act."
3 really isn't that many when you consider the alternative - how badly would one of the guys have gotten it had they allowed their true nature to show while in school?
