I still play D2 on and off for a quick hour of entertainment.

Diablo 3 will need more substance, in my opinion, to keep up with the games of today.

If they make a graphically superior D2 with a different story, and no real innovation, I wouldn't be surprised. That seems to be Blizzard's MO.
