Food poisoning is probably the worst experience in life I can speak of.

...and I've had a few near-death experiences.

An experience very close to that is the reason I haven't eaten eggs in 18 years. Mine went like this:

Me: Get out frying pan, crack egg; scream bloody murder at the umm abomination currently cooking.

So imagine the sight and smell and there you have it. I have gotten better lately but at one point I couldn't even stand the thought of the things. /shudder.

i couldn't live w/o them either. from general scrambles, omelettes, skillets, or OE-OH to scrambled, cut/rolled and dipped in soy sauce, to egg whites in my miso or making caesar dressing or shitloads of asian noodle dishes that you spread a raw egg over the top of, mmmmm. i couldn't imagine not having eggs :eyecrazy:

There is no amount of Febreeze that can rid the home of that smell in any short period of time.

My brother once pulled the plug on the deep freeze in the garage right after my folks had bought half a steer, 20lbs of chicken, pork... we didn't realize until like a week and a half later.
Mom and I spent 2 days cleaning it out... I damn near became a vegetarian because of that. /shiver

I'd pour cola on it and see if any "worms" creep out lol. Then I'd go puke.

Our entire apartment smells like saffron because my roommate won't keep it in a tin and he cooks every weekend for 50 people. I have a hard time eating there because of it.

Indeed. Was back in 1982 or so and there's a butcher in Arlington they used to go to - I think the deal was $650 for all of it.
To say my dad was pissed would be a gross understatement.

Jennay: you didn't need to pour any cola on it. They were already there on everything in force hon. It was... uh... not an experience I wish to ever have to repeat... ever.

it's not that he's using it fast, it's that he won't keep it in a tin or something to keep the strong odor out.
