Someone explain the PVP system PLEASE...

Okay, I understand that the pvp servers are alliance vs horde. But also on pve servers, alliance can engage horde if in an alliance area? Will there be high end mobs that will be found only in certain areas, such as horde venturing into alliance territory to take on a known named mob? Or will the instanced guild raids take care of this?

Since I am only in stress, I am not working one character up to have it deleted in 9 days, so I've made several lvl 10-15 characters to get a feel for each class. Due to this, I have absolutely NO knowledge of the higher end game and where pvp will come into play. I enjoyed the DAoC model of pvp (except for the massive unbalance), and curious to how it is going to work in WoW.

On pve you can only be attacked if you go into pvp mode (by attacking rival npcs).
