Computer problem

So I booted up this morning and my computer isn't working. The computer gets power and the blue leds (decoration) light up, but the actual light that indicates power doesn't. My keyboard (ps2 or whatever) and scanner (usb) get power, but my usb mouse does not. Nothing happens when I boot however, no activity on the monitor at all. I think it might be the HD. Help

you'd get an error message if your HD failed.

Motherboard or video card is dead.

I suspect your motherboard if the HD activity light isn't coming on.

my first guess would be a bum mobo. Try disassembling everything and reassembling everything to make sure that everything is properly seated. Clean out any excess dust that has accumulated in your video card & processor.

If that doesn't work, buy a new motherboard.

I'd say pretty low from personal experience. Never had one go out, I've had four motherboards die in the past though.

Variety of things, I think it was a mix of overclocking and moisture that caused mine to die though.

When you turn your power on, you say your USB accesories have power. Do your case fans also turn on? If so, your power supply is working. Your motherboard is fucked.

New mobo, same problem.. The fans and leds come on for all of 2 seconds and everything shuts down. The mobo power light is on always though.

Vonkaar has extra mobos. I'm sure he'd be happy to send you a couple. One might have chrome paint on it though.

New mobo wasn't needed. Replaced the power supply and it worked just dandy. Now to ship this right back to newegg.
