GTA~San Andreas RULES!

Post by Phantomfist »

Just picked it a little bit ago and it's so much fun.

First, the map is HUGE compared to the previous two. I would guess it's at least as big as the last 2 combined.

Roughly a third of the map is actually city. Another 3rd is a combination between the airport, giant military base, and various other business parks. With the remaining 3rd being wide open country with lots of hills, mountains, valleys, prairies, heavily wooded area,...etc. And lots and lots of dirt roads to travel down if you want to bypass the zillion miles of highways.

It has a couple new features we've all wanted for a long time. You can finally swim, go underwater and best of all, you can climb up and over things. Things like hedges and walls. You can even climb ontop of a lot of houses, assuming you can jump high enough to grab onto the edge.

There's also a stat system. As you run around and do things, you get stat increases. Stuff like more stamina or a reduction in the chance of you falling off your cycle, for example.

And maybe best of all, the vehicles can finally go really, really FAST!

The only downside I've seen is at times the game will suffer from lag, kinda like in Vice City when you had a shitload of cops on you. But other than that, it plays really smooth.

The cars are not as good as the cars in Driv3r, however. They don't look quite as good. Nor do they drive, smash-up or sound as good. But if you've never played Driv3r, then you won't be the least bit disappointed in the graphics.

There are a lot of other really cool features as well. And I'm sure there are plenty more I haven't discovered yet. If you loved the last two, don't hesitate to buy this one.

It was well worth the wait.

Now if only they would make a 2 or more player version...

They made a mod for GTA:VC called MultiTheftAuto.

It sucked a lot though, very very dull stuff. Its like driving around a ghost town.

I'd buy a game that looked and played like GTA if they made it multiplayer and renamed it ShadowRun and added in some magic and deckers and shiznat

Could never get into the GTA game series. Tried it a couple of times and it just bored the hell out of me. It's a game that seems to specifically target young males, has little depth, and well doesn't seem very challenging at all. I’m not saying it sucks, it’s just not my type of game. I might rent GTA SA just to see what all the hoopla is…
