You on crack? Why would you want to trade a great game for something that only the "I'm an angsty, amime loving teenager" would play?

I find it funny that the EQ2 players are constantly defensive about it... while the WoW players are happily playing.

Kinda makes you wonder what's going on in their heads that they feel the need to defend it... even in threads where nothing negative was said.

I'm not defensive, I just love the game. :)

I think the defensive ones are used to people attacking EQ2 just because it's SoE.

WoW players are happily playing? 4 servers will be down for 2 'or more' days, and massive, massive lag (like 5 mins of lag every 10 mins) on every other server, regardless of population. Not too many are playing 'happily' atm.

I know many in my guild are happy despite downtimes

they just are going through temporary withdrawals. Upside about us tho... we know blizz will fix it.

With 200,000 accounts created first day, there is bound to be server strain

as the guy from gamespy wrote...
"Is this disturbing? Sure. On the other hand, this is the kind of problem that most game companies would kill to have. The reason for these issues is that more people than anyone could have possibly anticipated are struggling to get on board with the game. While it's frustrating in the short term, I have every confidence that Blizzard will work the problems out and the level of popularity can't help but be a long term positive for the World of Warcraft community"

Yes, you have to pay. You buy the CD's at a store.

Well, you didn't see Sony go 'round and name NPC's after high level EQ players. You wanna talk gay and cheesy?

I've seen WoW in action - and I am not impressed. Sony has had 4 years of experience developing, marketing, and running EQ - regardless of how much some of you *claim* to hate Sony and or EQ such obviously didn't stop you from paying your month subscription fees.

Of course it's purely objective and a matter of opinion - but as far as I am concerned WoW can suck my ass - I'll stick to EQ.

If WoW is your thing then more power to you. If you're having fun with it - then you're getting your moneys worth, so no one's opinions about it matter anyway. I have, however, have zero interest in it.

What a coincidence that the 4 most populous servers (by thousands of people I understand) come down for a couple days after the initial rush. Unlike EQ2 they didn't bother implementing a character transfer program after the first day. Bring the servers down, a fair chunk of the population moves on and BAM you bring it back up. Problem solved.

They doubled their servers to 88 actually to accomodate the demand in wow.

btw some of us dont hate sony, we just know from exp their track record.

I dont pay for my accounts in eq stopped that about 6 months ago.

perhaps reason eq2 servers arent having as much problems is because they dont have close to as many people?

I saw that wow posted their stats for first day, but didnt find anything on eq2.

You don't have server strain when 50k people log on servers you expecting 100k+ on. Thank you WoW open Beta!

what is server queue? does that mean you have to wait to make a character on that server? or does it mean you have to wait to play even if you have a character already made on that server.

Uh oh, sounds like disgruntled EQ2 players are wishing they had jumped on the WoW bandwagon. Must suck to not even have enough people playing to even stress the servers=P

WoW 88 servers, more than EQ PLUS EQ2 servers.

Since they fixed the servers on the 3rd day I've had no lag at all except very minor (1/2 second) loot lag 4 or 5 times last night.

You guys are welcome to join our guild since there wasn't enough intrest to form any EQ2 guilds

Hmm, I'm trading a WOW account <mine> for his EQ2 account.

Think ya got it backwards there, Taxx.

WOW does seem to be doing insanely well, and I have no doubts Blizzard will/has sorted there server problems. 250k sales the first few days is amazing.
