Quick question

Post by Muglack »

This probably isn't an issue for most people, but what is the time between posts. That 1 minute BS from EZboard was WAY too long, especially if I'm on a roll. Just wondering what it is for this board. I suppose I could just try to post again as soon as I post this and see what it tells me but that's a lot of work. Although it would of been less work then actually typing out what could of done, and way less then this explanation, but oh well, I'm gonna leave the question anyway even though there's a good chance I'll just try to reply, and will in all likely hood answer said question on my own.

Thanks for reading and keep the good work. Oh and always remember, Muglack loves you.

It's 15 seconds... what would ya'll like it to be? I had it at 45 but it was annoying me. I TOTALLY agree in that there SHOULD be a higher limit... but... how high is sufficient without being annoying?

is there any way you can make the limit different for different people?

like say, for people like muglack and I with 1000+ posts, not much danger of us starting a flood attack

so maybe people with less than 100 posts should have a 30 or 45 second limit and once you get more than 100 it gets lifted autmatically?

dunno if thats possible just a thought

I can probably figure out how to do it by rank... those with 1k or higher postcounts have no timer... I'll look into it.

It should be like 3 hours for people with less then 4000 posts, and no timer for those about. You wouldn't want the mesageboard noobs to go spam crazy.

Oh, and there wasn't a timer when I was porting those, they were all within 5 or 10 seconds of each other using fast reply.

I like the 3 hour idea...

I just tested it... I upped the timer to 30 seconds and I *do* have to wait that long for each reply... whether it be a 'quick' or 'slow' reply.

Cool beans, 30 seconds is what they had on TK and it didn't really get in the way that often although there were some days when Mindia or Toshio were going off that made me wish it was shorter.

i vote 30 seconds as well

just long enough for the spammer kids with short attention spans to be discouraged but not so long that the pros can't shoot off a few rapid-fire insults
