That high school basketball player who was drafted out of high school? Lebron something, I think.

And how is he doing?

But yeah... it's LeBron James...

He might be MVP this year. He was rookie of the year last year and has improved on his game on every level this year. He is every bit the 'marquee' player that Michael Jordon was to the Bulls in the mid 80s, although it's still way too early to make 'too' many of those comparisons.

I have to give that kid a lot of respect. With all that hype, he stepped up and dominated. I doubt I could have done the same in his shoes.

Wth... he's hardly the first... people forget that Kobe, KG and even Dr. J were even drafted out of HS.

Kobe probably had the most hype about him.

And... Dr J played for Mass...

so... I was wrong on that...

KG was the 'first' of the modern breed.

zan kemp wasn't drafted out of high school... he was at like Trinity Community College.. and yes thats just like 13th grade but still a college :)

yea and i saw some list somewhere where it showed all those that came out of high school and never made it (its pretty big). They had some interview with a guy from NY (omar cook maybe i can't remember) who said he is better than Lebron just no one gave him a chance.

I wish all those high school players went to 1 year of college at least. For every Lebron there are like 8 POSs. They, for the most part, need more play time against top competition. Lebron did play against top players in his high school season (Mater Dei and Oak Hill Academy (Josh Smith's HS team) and a few others) T-Mac did the same. Telfair i think needed one year of college (and it would have helped him playin at Louisville). Dwight Howard needed at least a year of college (he was schooled by that other 7'0 he played that was on national TV who they said was gonna hop to the NBA but went to college instead).

I think lebron will eventually be how kobe was (before he went into the ME ME ME mode). But he can do all this great stuff but unless he at least wins a playoff series or gets to a conference championship it will be useless.

Wade i think will eventually be the MVP of that draft. Only cause he has shaq and he also has playoff experience and a couple game winners in the playoffs. (carmelo is falling fast (with attitude which can screw his career up and i thought he was going to be the best out of that draft)
