EQ2 getting boring

Any of you getting bored with EQ 2? I've hit that hump where I've gotten so tired of having to quest for EVERYTHING - that I stopped logging on. Will probably cancel my account soon.

It took 4 years for EQ1 to start feeling more like a job than a game, it's take EQ2 about two months to accomplish that same thing.

You can't even take a shit without having to do some stupid quest first.

/shrug

It wouldn't be so bad if every friggen quest didn't require a damn group.

Yea I quit and cancelled both of my accounts...way too much 'work' to be fun. I used to play hardcore though, I know what it's like...but i'm probably through with mmorpgs, probably try WoW though, since i've heard it's a hell of a lot 'easier'

I reached that point about 3 weeks ago and have since started playing WoW... I eat my words talking shit about WoW early on.

It isn't as pretty as EQ2 but is fast paced and never ever seems like a job. I am about to turn 25 and still can solo just fine. You don't have to quest, if you do quest you can get great loot and outstanding exp by yourself, or you can go do instances which are fucking awesome in this game.

So far risk vs reward and loot is very well balanced.

I highly recommend coming over to whisperwind and joining up with the rest of us.

Just be forewarned you all with be towel boys, and I will demand promotion to Master of Towel Bowels, 5th Division Light Infantry.

I got to level 24 - still playing tho.... presure from RL friends who want to continue on. We'll see how it goes for a little while longer.

20s levelling in EQ2 is WAY too fucking slow and repetitive. The quests become very redundant and its not viable to level solo.

Its a really piss poor design at that level range, and hopefully Sony will get their collective heads out of their asses and make levelling easier and more fun for non optimal groups.

New huge patch says they are adding solo and small group content, and upping solo and small group xp. This should translate to less boring levelling I would think.

don't count on it. I don't care what sony says... Everquest has and will always be a fucking 2nd job and you will always have to grind your ass off.
Expansions will come out to ensure that you are never maxed and constantly grinding to get better and better.

One of the things I am looking forward to with WoW are that soon I will be 60. Maxed out. I will finally be able to be at the top and have time to pursue trade skills, raids, PVP, and just explore and have fun. You could never do that with EQ and actually keep up unless you were playing 10 hours a day.

I would think most people after EQ were tired of the insane grinding and go somewhere else.

I've been lvl 48 for 2 weeks. I haven't played in a week. I've only logged on for raids for like a hour every few nights.

Too much of a job. Life dissapearing.

Cancel account, i was 40 wizard with a monk lev 20-21. Game was getting to repetitive, to much dull grinding. I play WoW on Doomhammer, the game is much more enjoyable than EQ2 and solo is not restricted to 1 class nor it stop at level 15. Its a MUCH more fun game as its not a second jobs.

p.s.: i like quest, trade skill something i was running away usully in EQ1-2 so it can't be that bad.
