Is this game a PVP type FPS that is setup like the RVR in DAoC, without all the pveing/lvling before it? Is there a system of gear that you can get in order to make some kinda template? I take it the battleranks or whatever are kinda like realm ranks in DAoC?

the battle ranks just allow you access to different weapon/vehicle certifications

a BR 1 dude will fire as accurately as a BR20 dude

the BR20 dude can get in a robot and step on you tho

Well, mess around with the different vehicles and weapons in the training area. Doing so can get you to about BR4, plus you'll know if you wanna snipe, drive a tank, or fly a jet.

Ralf, the best thing to do is go to the training center. It'll get you to Battle Rank 3 which will allow you to do more, and also the center will let you test all the weaponry and ships in the game.
