Found a pretty cool program.

It even plays the tabs in midi while highlighting the notes as it plays through. Pretty cool program.

(can be used to write your own and edit others' as well)

The archive they have on the site is pretty extensive too.

I sent that over to a buddy of mine. I've been learning some geetar from him, starting with tablature. Pretty cool stuff there.

Yup, fiddled with that years ago before giving up when I realized i sucked at guitar

thats a fantastic program especially for being free... I also like AP Guitar Tuner which you can find on download.com. You can use your computer mic to tune your guitar. It also has all the presets for almost all the types of guitar tuning ie: Drop D, Drop Db, Drop C etc etc.
