I don't hate The Shawn©. This sucks 8(.
There isn't a team in the league that wouldn't LOVE to have him on their team... for 8 minutes a game... at $2-3 million a year. He's great at confusing teams, stopping long runs... Bradley's BIGGEST problem was his position in the draft. People expect a #2 pick to perform at an incredibly high level. He was never capable of that. He's not a starting center... not even a backup center. He's a 'rollplayer'.
However... If we get the insurance or cap-free buyout, this is GREAT news.

Lol, i hate that big goon. People who suck at NBA live would be the Mavericks all the time online, and just use him to block every shot.
Today they were doing highlights of him as they talked about his retirement. They had maybe 2 jump shots and a lay-up. The rest was KG, T-Mac and other people dunking on his face, was hilarious.

ESPN? They have hated him for years. I have a clip on my computer called "the top 10 dunks on Shawn Bradley." It was played during sportscenter a couple of years ago... it's set to "O.P.P." by Naughty by Nature. Freaking hilarious.

I wouldn't expect you to know anything about it. Your basketball IQ as seen on NT consists of 1 liners and copied opinions.
He's as spotty as it comes... possibly the biggest "you never know what you are going to get from him" player in the past 10 years. I mean, in 97, he had a game against Portland where he dropped something like 27 points, grabbed 21 rebounds, blocked 9 shots and threw out a few dimes. It was disgusting. He was great at disrupting the offense of teams just when they get in a groove. He did that against Phoenix in the regular season... Houston... Seattle... his intangibles were key.
Don't get me wrong... he was GROSSLY overpaid for what we (or any team) needed him for - 8-10 minutes, blocked shots and an occasional rebound. That SHOULD have been a $2-4 million a year player. As it is, he's made something like $75m during his career... and that REALLY hurt us =/.
In other news...
Mavs are talking about releasing Michael Finley. On a personal level, I find it fucking disgusting. Where the fuck is loyalty? He got the max contract back when he was the #1 player on our team - leading the league in minutes played... 13th in PPG... we made a commitment to him and now we just want to dump him? Fucking hell. However, on the 'good for the team' aspect, it's pretty spot on. Finley, Bradley and a few bench-players (hendo and armstrong most likely) would create a LOT of cap room for us. Dirk and Van Horn are pretty expensive deals on their own... Howard will be up this year and we need to completely max his contract out... it's definitely good for the team. Additionally, Stackhouse was much more consistent than Finley - they should have switched the starting roles a long time ago. Furthermore, Daniels is a great player who had a horrible year due to the cramped 2/3 spots with Fin and Stack available.
So... I'm pretty 'meh' on the whole thing. Yeah, it makes sense... but it stings a little.

uh...
you come into a sports forum...
write about sports, possibly a top 15-20 'contributor' (by number of posts in the forum)...
and then make fun of people for writing in a sports forum
You were that kid that shopped at wal-mart with his mom and then made fun of the classmates he ran into in the shoe isle for shopping there.
Calling me out for being 'long-winded' is pretty silly. I've been doing that for 5 years on NT. Religion, Death-Penalty, Abortion, NBA, my sex life,... and so on.

So, a 2 paragraph post is okay but 5 is over the limit...
Where is the Taxx threshhold set?
Or,
It's okay to talk about politics in depth
but not sports
What topics meet your approval?
Or,
Taxx is posting on a forum (where he leads ALL posters) whining about people who post on forums.
Can you write out a nice little FAQ so we know what style of posting you'll find agreeable? I'm a little confused.

When I went to see a Mavs game this year my girlfriend asked me who that tall guy warming up was. I told her it was the mormon dynamo known as Shawn Bradley and he got paid 10 million a year to warm up. She didn't get it.
For some reason this made me
. When he first got drafted out of college, I thought he would be the next Manute Bol that can shoot a little bit. But he didnt even live up to that hype.vonkaar wrote:ESPN?
