Take a look at Bonds in the year 2000 and then 2001 once he picked up his "trainer".

Come on now, we're talking about an ATHLETE here - these guys aren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed, if you know what I mean. I am suprised most of them can even spell their own names... most athletes aren't very bright - this is common knowledge. Soooooo, on some scale - I don't think it's entirely unbelievable that Bonds didn't know what he was taking.
