GAH Mary was a normal woman who got pregnant in the same way millions and millions of others have. Gave birth to a normal child, this normal child grew to be a great man named Jesus Christ. A great leader, a great speaker and a person full of great ideas.

I remember reading something about the possibility or fertilization occuring without sperm (ie pregnacy without sexual intercourse) being a very remote possibility like a 1 in ten million chance, but still scientifically possible. Anyone know if there is any validity to this?

I know you can fake your body into believing it is pregnant (missed periods, lactating, stomach bloat) but you arent. I've never heard of a true "virginal" birth....well, other than tabloids.

Naw this involved a complete absence of sperm, something like the egg attaching to the vaginal wall and fertilizing there, I'm thinking it's not possible because it would be lacking a set of chromozones... but again it was supposedly a very remote possibility, definetly not a common occurance. If it is indeed a scientific possibility that would support the idea of Mary's virginal conception for those of a strictly scientific mindset... Probably wouldn't make a bit of difference to those who believe because of faith save to explain how God did it.
