While I agree Diekan can sometimes be a dumbass I'm not quite sure how that stacks up against "I didn't know that getting my ass kicked by my significant other was bad".

Hey, I am a Mr. Niceguy. I hold doors, pull chairs, buy flowers and it works out ok for me. That stuff you don't do during the courting process though. I use that stuff as "girlfriend retention" which is a decent amount of time into the relationship. When you're going after a girl, you kinda gotta give that "Hey I don't really care THAT much about you, but I'm interested" attitude.

Being a Mr. Niceguy doesn't mean you're a pussy or you're not gonna get laid. The thing is you gotta be in control while being a Mr. Niceguy at the same time. Sure, I'll open a door, pull out the chair, pay for meals and dates and all that, but I also have expectations. She can't look bad when we go out, she has to be polite, she has to respect my worklife and she has to be a good cook =P. I told my girlfriend all of that and have even cancelled a date because she looked bad that day. If you lay out expectations and follow up with the nice guy thing, it gives them incentive to meet your needs and also, they know that you're not obsessed or clinging. Those expectations let them know that you'll bounce if they don't meet them.

You base your entire opinion on one very narrow scope - if relationships aren't for you, fine - but you're lying to all of NT if you're saying that they're just not for you based on observation alone.. to me, it's pretty obvious that you got yourself in a couple shitty situations and are tainted on the entire subject - either that, or you watch way too much TV

You're passing judgment that if you're attractive, you're a bitch; sure, there are great women out there, but theyre all fat and ugly, and that's below your standards. Well, what about all the manface heifers that are guilty of being cunts? What about the tons of beautiful women out there that aren't after someone's wallet among other things?

Quite frankly, Diek, perhaps you're aiming a bit too high. I've seen pictures of you, and while you're not ugly, you're no Brad Pitt yourself - so in a man's generalization, which do you fall in? Hot chauvanistic assholes, or mediocre nice guy? If we wanna narrow it down to your perspective, it's gotta be one of the two, and really.. you're neither - you're more of a combination of the two.

All this divorce and infidelity you mention.. that's not all women, you know. Yes.. true love is rare, and even moreso with the higher the population gets - that's just statistics. The infidelity and divorce rates are higher than they've ever been only because times have changed with people wanting more liberation over the years.. well, people got it, can leave and do as they please without reprocussion, and the infidelity and divorce rates are a direct result of that, imo. It's a comparison to the past where it was unheard of to divorce - by today's standards it's OK, so of course there's more.. doesn't mean true love doesn't exist, just means the occurance (or lack of) is more widely recognized. Once upon a time, it was very hush hush - doesn't mean it didn't happen.

As for myself.. no, of course I don't want some knight in shining armor with no backbone - being unable to speak for yourself is a huge turnoff.. but there is such thing as balance - you can have a healthy relationship without headaches while speaking your opinion and getting what you want AND having respect for the other person.. that's what love is about - middle ground.

For your sake, I truly hope you find a woman that knocks you off your feet and is good to you - it's a great thing to have once you find it. Believe me, if I based love on my past relationships, lord knows I wouldn't want to be with any man ever again either.. but I'm open minded enough to know that not every man is like the last.

So I switched into Ralf Macchio mode and said these exact words:

"Sweetheat...At your age you really can't afford to be giving anyone attitude...There is a good reason your still at the bars trying to land a man at your age. Think about it."

I could see her soul crumble through her otherwise vacant eyes.

She then proceeded to actually apologize and was up on my nuts after that...well until I left her by herself because I saw and asian girl with huge tits.

You got lucky and did find a quality woman Mo. But, if you go back and look at what I said - MOST people - NOT all people - are like the way I described.

It's just a fact of the American culture. And, Goose is right. Women have been catered to for eons - by dumbass men who think if they do this or that - they'll get some play. A lot of women act the way they do because of men.

People on this site are often quick to jump the gun. Instead of skimming over a page, or actually reading and thinking about what the person said - they just make assumptions. Where in any of my posts did I say I treated women like shit? I never said that. I said, over and over, that I'm not one to put up with their bullshit, which is in part one of the reasons I don't want a relationship.

Diekan, you are exactly how I was when I was your age. I will not sit here and bash you over it, because I can completely relate. Keep your eyes open, otherwise like me, you will get kidnapped into a relationship and not know what happened. I still have moments when I am thinking, "wtf did I get myself into?" You are young, have fun, watch out for STDs and when you least expect it, get blindsided into love.

Despite what women have some of you guys believing... women do not dig "nice" - they dig good looking guys who act like guys. They could care less about what kind of person you are. But, some men still have their heads up women's asses so far they still buy the bullshit they are fed.

If you wanna destroy your relationships - go ahead and start acting like you care... if you want to keep it alive... treat her no different then you do your guy friends and you won't be able to get rid of her.

In a sense Diekan is right. Women want men who act like men. Who can stand up for themselves and not be a wimp about everything. They may say they like sensitive guys but if they are too sensitive deep in the recesses of their souls they really think less of them and that's not a solid foundation that's gonna last.

There is, however, a difference between being an ass and being strong (and I don't mean physical strength).

I was just saying that because Diekan wrote that basically the only reason guys are in a relationship are because the girl has a nice rack. Seeing as I have been with Aryylas for five years, I guess all my dreams of him really loving me must be shattered because Dieken knows all.....
