I've been in this for a bit, but unmotivated to relevel after the last character wipe.

Preorder is now available.

There are some interesting internet blogs, which seem to be exempt from the nondisclosure agreement posted in the D&D Online homepage. Hopefully the city itself will be worth exploring, as well as quests and characters, I pray, will not invariably become carbon copies of one another.

I'd like to try this out, put in a beta app a couple weeks ago, not heard anything. Don't feel like shelling out $$ to filefront to get into their beta either. Ah well. heh.

I installed the beta and it completly fried my computer. The hard drive would spin for like 10 min just to open an app. Rebooting took 45 min. I uninstalled the beta and everything was back to normal.

From what I've read the system requirements are pretty high, though it seems they're being pretty tight lipped about it, probably to increase sales to force people into upgrades. The scuttlebutt indicates tha 3Ghz or AMD/Pentium M equivalent (1.8ish?); 1gig of ram; and 256 MB 64 bit graphics card. Still running on a 128 nVidia 5series personally.

Population lag, zoning difficultis and UI seem to be the major complaints up until now though. Surprising, since Turbine has a good record when it comes to designing an intuitive interface.
