I haven't seen a lot of his games, so is there actually proof that he can't zip it or throw it long?
just watch the last game
being able to throw long, and having a strong arm aren't necessarily the same thing
his throwing mechanics definately suck (that can possiby be rectified tho) and he just doesn't seem to throw the ball with any velocity
that being said, he's probably a better passer then Vick already
/agree....
Unfortuneately I think he should stay in the NCAA another year and work on mechanics.... but a friend of mine thinks that if he does and has a Leinhart kind of year then he could be losing millions in draft position just moving from prospective number 1 down a few spots... I think I see where he is coming from

Mindia is seriously the greatest troll that has ever lived.
Highest rated passer in the country. Highest rated passer in the country.
Say it to yourselves. Tatoo it into your nut sack.
Potentially the most clutch performer in the history of college football.
Rinse, repeat.
Seriously - would you rather have Leinharts pussy ass, who looked like his dog just died everytime a play didn't go his way. Who's head was so out of the game, he actually said in the post game interview "Well this was a great win....uh... loss for us." If any of you were still watching, I know you saw that shit. You want to look at someone who will do jack shit in the pros, theres your man.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS NOT COMPARABLE TO THE NFL..... WE HAVE JUST DISCUSSED HOW MANY QB'S BLOW IT ONCE THEY REACH THE NFL..... IT IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR A GREAT COLLEGE QB TO ABSOLUTELY SUCK IN THE NFL...... HOW ABOUT TATTOOING THAT ON YOUR FOREHEAD ALL BASSACKWARDS SO YOU CAN READ IT IN THE MIRROR
The greatest risk a team can take on any position player in the NFL draft is the QB.... Rarely can a QB transition to another position of they suck.... now if you are essentially any other position there is a possibility, though slim, that you could work with the player if they had enough raw physical talent....
I think Vince Young could maybe MAYBE in an alternate universe be groomed to become a strong safety or put on 30 pounds and become an outside linebacker or D-End and use his speed for a pass rush IF he doesn't work out as a QB

um, no
I'll bet you $50 now that he doesn't even match Doug Flutie's career numbers
I think he is a great college player but atm I dont think he has the skills to be a steve young style or even a mark brunell in his couple great years. I think he will sell tickets but in the NFL the game is faster i thought he made good pass choices but most were short and over the middle - in the nfl you can't live off that.
Wuerffel was an awesome clutch college QB with amazing numbers. As has been insinuated, NFL =! college.
I really have no clue how good Youngs arm is, I just know he won't be winning games in the NFL like he won in college. Leinart will.
Notice how many running QBs are in the playoffs versus pocket passers?

Mcnabb isn't a runner, he's a QB first and foremost. Mobile pocket passers are still pocket passers.
Remember, Mcnabb was dissed this year because he has turned into a good pocket passer

Young will be as good as his supporting cast in the NFL, and seeing as he'll be a top 3 pick, thats probably not going to be too much of one.
Keep an eye out for his name in 3-5 years if he can stay healthy and he'll be a top 5 NFL QB, but I can't see him making an impact right away.
Best NFL prospect QB atm has got to be Brady Quinn. Especially after 2 years under Weis's teaching (after next year).

While I may be risking a seven page quote fest:
I'm not comparing him to Vick or any other 'run first' QB. I'm my statement was in response to this:

I completly agree i cant think of a good "Mobile QB " since Steve Young - or maybe Brunell
