Sanctuary was there first. LoS tried to rush to the kill. Ultimus (I think) trained everyone.

It was Glubgawd who trained Trak to the Reet room, and the "I know you like bass fishing" incident was before that. As for Trak to Reet room, I dunno who was there first, but it wasn't just Sanc and LOS in there arguing, EotA was there in full force as well, arguing that THEY should get the first shot. 150-some-odd people crammed into the tiny-ass Reet room, all bitching up a storm at each other, when Glubgawd got fed up with it, and went and pulled Trak on top of everyone. Complete mass wipeout, EVERYONE died. LOS ended up recovering from the wipe first (honestly, LOS back then was KING of fast wipeout recovery), and went and downed Trak. We then spent the rest of the evening laughing hysterically about the whole thing, and snickering at Sanc and EotA.

The Dain thing was much much later. Basically, Sanc was fighting Klandicar, who was sought after because he dropped a key component for Sleeper's Tomb, and you needed 1 key per person, so they were important. Suddenly, Cargalia shows up where they're fighting, and completely wipes them out. LOS then swooped in and ganked Klandicar. Probably the best NT drama EVER followed, as Sanc accused LOS of training them, Ixnay went particularly frothingly mad as well. They first accused Manalope of doing it, but given that I was 2 feet behind him in the tunnel from Siren's Grotto when it happened, I knew he hadn't done it. Sanc was sure someone from LOS had done it, but had no proof, and some LOS people were able to show that Cargalia DID indeed roam where they were fighting occasionally, so the board drama died out somewhat.

(In truth, it WAS a LOS person that trained Cargalia, Thatia, but that didn't come out definitively til much later). Anyway, Fell and his more hardcore cronies wanted revenge, so they hatched a "Cunning Plan" to strike back against LOS. So, one night, when we were doing The Dain for like the 20th time (we were already thoroughly sick of the fight), Fell & Co. go out and deliberately start the 10th ring war specifically intending to lose, because they knew when that happened everything inside the dwarf town would despawn, including The Dain.

So, there we were, with The Dain maybe half dead, when suddenly *poof*, everything vanishes, and we almost immediately figure out what happened. Just about everyone in LOS starts laughing our ass off privately, and off to the boards we went, and a new drama thread erupts that nearly equals the Cargalia thread. We also contacted the GM at the time, and several people in Sanc ended up getting suspended and/or banned for doing it. Plus, it served as further proof that Fell was a complete raving psycho, and served as the final trigger that caused Sanc to implode, and I think literally a dozen+ Sanc members deguilded over it within a week.

Had I been hardcore a little earlier I would have weaseled my way in LoS.

Assuming your playing skills and playtimes were up to snuff, you'd have fit in pretty well with a lot of the early LOS members. People like Abou, Llod, Amulek, Marck, Ezekiel, Tenaj, Dather, The mage mangina who's name escapes me that deliberately COH'ed Tenaj into midair above the huge spires in Deadlands so that he'd fall to his death as soon as he appeared etc... Yeah, you'd have fit right in. heh.

It wasn't revenge for the Klandicar train, we were fighting our way down to Dain when LoS show up and push past us. The whole thing turned into a KS fest of people charming mobs and what not, mem wiping them and trying to get the other group trained. Eventually LoS got to Dain 1st and Ultimus started the ring event (not Fell) and he got banned. Ariellia and (Troll warrior name escapes me) left soon after although both maintained that LoS was as much to blame for the whole thing so I think it was more because Sanctuary was always on the losing end and not because of some moral epiphany.

Bzul was the name of the warrior maybe?

I was at that raid, and I don't remember Sanc being there at all. I also remember from the drama thread that came afterward, Fell and others saying that it was revenge for Cargalia, etc.

As for the troll warrior that left, it must have been Bzul, yeah, since he and arielia were RL friends. I know Berton quit Sanc over that too, and I am pretty sure several others went as well.

Wouldn't surprise me if LOS pushed past people though. We always had the opinion that if we wanted something, we were going to go for it, unless someone else was actively engaged with it, or about to be. If you wanted to get something we wanted, you needed to be as fast as we were. If you weren't, tough shit. No way we'd, say, let people sit there with not a full raid and "claim" something when we had a full raid there ready to kill. You wanted it, you get a full raid there and start fighting before we do. Oh, and best win the first time too, or it's ours. Assholeish attitude? Oh, no doubt. Successful? Most definitely. heh.

No Berton didn't quit sanctuary over that. He was fuming with the rest of us about that, then a week later left and used that as an excuse to get ahead.

lotta miss information here

1) the trak thing, it was a joint EotA/sanc raid, early on (the first few kills for both guilds of trak) they raided together because of lack of level 60s and bad class mix (sanctuary had like, all paladins, and support classes, EotA had the high level enchanters/warriors). It wasn't 150, it was the equivalent of 2 raids, and the reason los reccovered quickly was some people knew ahead of time that trak was coming and had camped. When I died and poped back up, I saw saldor on his cleric sitting at the wizard portal area in south ro (the standard meet up spot to do hate).

2) the klandicar thing happened when we actually won a race vs los for I believe the first time ever. We had klan down to like 5% but were losing people, then carg gets trained onto the guild and we wipe. We knew for sure it was trained because some of us (myself included) had tried to aggro her and train her away letting the guild finish off kland. If it was pathing, simple prox aggro would have done it.

3) the dain bs happened right following the cleric botb and had nothing to do with klandicar other then just one more reason for people in sanctuary to dislike los, we were planning on doing dain after, los found out and decided to beat us to the punch. Los always mobilized a lot faster then sanctuary and we got beat. Fell then logged on utlimus' account and spawned the ring war (despawning the dain) with no intention of doing the event (sanc never did the ring war). The ultimus account was then banned. Fell and a bunch of other sanctuary then moved servers, a bunch of sanc left for los (bzul, kyntaro, berton) and most of the rest just vanished. Arielia stayed in sanctuary until nearly the end.

I wonder when Calabee and Vipsindsyg are gonna come out of nowhere and chime into this thread. The LoS Sanc threads are always fun. Seems like everyone has differing viewpoint of the shit that happened.

I'd trust Snero's viewpoint on the subject since he doesn't really have any allegiance to either camp and has a freakish memory about these things.

Yeah, LOS really was excellent at rapid mobilization when there was stuff to be killed, especially if it meant preventing Sanc (or whoever our later competition was) from getting it. As I said, our opinion always was, "OK, if you want to claim to be as good as us, you need to BE as good as us, and actually beat us to the punch, then win the fight. You fail either one, the mob's ours."

We also took great delight in crushing the spirit of the 2nd place guilds. I remember in Velious, we'd been on Dragon faction for a long time, so had never so much as tried Yelinak. Sanc got around to working on him, and finally did pretty well one night and got him really low after several nights of continuous attempts, so it looked like they might get him really soon. Well, we certainly couldn't have SANCTUARY get a 1st kill, so the next night, there we were, fighting Yelinak. Downed him with only 1 night's worth of attempts, laughed at Sanc for being gimp, got our 1st kill, and then went back to mostly ignoring him.

Heh, that only happened once, and most of LOS at the time didn't know we HAD trained you. I certainly didn't.
