wow is not superior to eq...only if you are talking about easy playing ability

i feel like wow is eq set to easy

it doesn't matter..dude said it right when he said they are two different kinds of games and comparing them is useless

just because they have a lot of things in common such as spells, classes, races, etc...does not mean the game is the same...

wow is for convenience....i imagine a lot of uber bad motherfuckers out there are only on wow because they are doing other great things with their lives

i am going to play wow while i still can

You haven't done one boss fight yet. I've done boss fights in both WoW and EQ. 99% of EQ boss fights went exactly the same way.

You're comparing 15 levels in WoW compared to all of EQ, what kind of comparison is that.

It's not like EQ was difficult at all to level up in. The only reason someone would say it's "easier" is because you couldn't solo in EQ.

Go clear BRD solo, or do C'thun and get back to me.

Nobody can honestly say that EQ is superior in ANY way except possibly community, and that was player created. WoW did everything EQ did and improved on what it did wrong. It's the same fucking game only improved, so how anyone can possibly say an archaic game like EQ is superior is clearly either 1) dilusional or 2) a fanboy of EQ.

You yourself said that you'd rather chat than play the game. That right there is exactly my point. EQ is by far an inferior game but with a better community. You're so attached to your friends and guild in that game that it makes you think that game is better when really it has NOTHING to do with the game. Implant that entire playerbase over to WoW and I gaurantee you wouldn't say the same thing.

I know people who can solo all of BRD, or at least they've solo'ed the Emperor. Gotta be the right class to do it, though. (Rogue is one I know that can do it). I can solo chunks of it m'self, but I don't think I could take the Emperor solo; I just don't do enough DPS as a pally.

Now, soloing C'thun, that would indeed be impressive.

I find myself in agreement with Taxx here too, actually. Boss fights in WOW, at least past MC, are light years ahead of just about anything I ever experienced in EQ. On the plus side as well, the average play/gear level has now risen to the point where pickup raids can go into MC and be successful.

I didn't mean solo C'thun. Just compare that fight to ummm ANY fight in EQ and it becomes laughable that anyone can say EQ is more difficult. If you consider keeping a mob mezzed for 30 minutes at a time using an eggtimer or doing CH rotations "difficult" then ok.

Even the Ragnaros (could add Baron Geddon) encounter in MC is far more innovative than anything EQ did.

Incorrect.

Taxx actually makes a good point. Your 15 levels of wow is a good "ez mode" just as how your 50th EQ character would be easy to level to 15. Once you get to 60, its still easy. Now just like in EQ, if you want to be "ubber" you have to raid or rank up in pvp. Pvp is a time sink with little to no skill involvement(if you go the easy route, but that could change this coming patch with the new honor.)

Now to the raiding part. Just recently Ive changed my stance on this. its alot harder to raid and gear up in WoW. Ill give you the reasons to. Harsher learning curve in EQ, meant people knew how to play there classes better at the max level. Harsher leveling curve meant people would play the class they leveled to 60 unless they were about to die or had a druid to PL them, wow to 60 takes about 3 weeks of CASUAL play, EQ casual time to level was much longer before.

Instance, well now since everything is instanced(minus YOU FUCKING COCK SUCKING MOTHERFUCKING FAGGOT ASS ALLIANCE WHO LIKE TO GRIEF US ON THE FUCKING DRAGONS AND TURN INTO FUCKING MUSHROOMS, OR SET UP ALLIANCES WITH COMPETING GUILDS TO FUCK US OVER SO THEY GET THE LOOT) you dont have cockblocking. Due to the previous reason, you always have a trinkle of new players after a few months, which means regearing, some older/core members dont like this and leave also which is bad.

EQ after a doomed raid you usually got out with very minium losses maybe 4% of your exp, after a bad WOW raid, you get out with 30-40g less money. Which takes a few hours to refarm unless your a herbalist, then your competiting with the rest of your guild to pick plants the quickest to remake the consumables you used while trying to make the repair cost back.

If all EQ dungeons were instanced it be alot easier then wow in my opnion if it stayed the way it was prior to the new changes. Leveling/questing/SOLO progression is alot easier in wow, I will agree.

That's a very good point also Ybik. If all of the EQ encounters were instanced and guilds got to practice as much as they wanted it'd be even more ridiculous.

7 Million players? :P

I think I talk to 2 people on a regular basis in game and they're both people I know in RL. I play it because the game is damn fun, not because I'm looking for people to chat with or trying to escape something.

WoW sucked after I got sick of the raid schedule. Not much left to do with a fully geared charector besides PVP and the PVP sucks.

I liked WoW, looking back I probably should have quit after Nefarian.

You may want to pick it up post-expansion, Ginz. Tons of stuff to do then. New PVP honor system goes in next tuesday, too, so you may see PVP improve. Not to mention, again once the expansion hits, we get arena PVP, which is pure team vs team PVP, which should definitely be interesting.

I sold my charector on ebay to remove any temptation of returning.

And I refuse to level up another charector. Just the thought of it makes me shudder.

Word. AQ40 had its ups and downs, but the early clears of BWL and MC back in the day were pretty memorable. The majority of MC was dissapointing compared to EQ, but Sulf/Domo/Rag made you think, and that was exciting. At the time, all of the encounters in BWL were really challenging, and even today with retardedly good gear, theres some execution fights you could still fuck up.( aggro and Vael comes to mind). You need more than autoattack that is...

Naxx sucked. It did very little for me.

I don't know about you guys, but I think the most fun I had in WoW was definately ZG. The smaller amount of people in vent makes raids easier to organize, and you and your friends can laugh and be dumb during the trash pulls, but it's soo much easier to cut the chatter and get 20 people focused for the boss pulls, than it is to try and get 40 people all on the same page.

The 24 man raiding is the reason I just came back to WoW, because i'm hoping for that ZG feeling again. ^_~
