Riding is good, should be fine with a hd based player if you want to put more than 4 gigs of songs on it.

you're never ever going to listen to all of it in 1 sitting, so don't pay a premium for a large device when you simply don't need it

i've got a 20gb lyra, and a 2gb kpex(expands to 6gb with a sd card)

the kpex gets used a billion times more simply because it's smaller, lighter, and has a radio built in

iPods are trendy peices of shit that are marketed amazingly well

head to head, feature for feature they're not as good as a lot of the others, and when you consider you're paying a premium for a lesser device....

they break constantly. Choose something simple that has a track history of having a robust decoding firmware. I keep some music in flac format myself which is not supported by most mp3 players and a lot of them have trouble with VBR files =\

Heh i seriously dont know why ppl go with any mp3 with more then 2gigs not like you can't take off music and put new one's on. You also wouldnt be able to listen to all 200 songs in proly even like 3 days. That's assuming you listen to it till battery life is at max then drains to 0.

Or if you're like me and decide what you want to listen to while your working. I listen all day while coding, it helps to drown out folks around the office. I never know what I'll want to listen to while working until I feel it. :)

don't encode you music at a retardly high bit rate then

you're not going to be able to tell the difference coming out of a shitty mp3 player anyways, might as well save some space ;)

I do all mine at 192 max. I cannot tell the difference hearing wise with anything higher than 192. It keeps them down to a reasonable size but not sounding like shit.

Somedays I want to listen to comedy so bust listen to that for a while, other days a little country. Some days I'm really pissed off and need some anger music. I just never know what I'll want to listen too. The best part is I can use my player to record meetings and store files on it, when they're larger than 1gig (my pen drive is only 1 gig).

Yeah mine can do all that except video games. Ipods are just like everything else apples makes, they look really cool but they are seriously over priced. :)

i'm actually shocked at how watchable the little screen is on the Kpex

i've watched the first 2 seasons of Stargate on it so far, and it's pretty good

my Lyra which has a really nice 5 inch screen is mostly a portable harddrive now =\

I watched a porno on mine, it wasn't too bad. I could see using it to watch a movie on a plane or something. :)

If I still rode the bus to work this would be a good option, I hadn't thought of that. :)

Arlos I use the Zen MicroV as well as other zens. some you can use batteries with ( my preference) but others charge via a usb cable. both are worth it.

I have like 15 gigs of music on mine give or take. 1) Im impulsive, its hard to tell what i'll want to hear and having it all on there all the time makes that easy 2) Im lazy as hell and slow when it comes to computer shit so its easier not to have to fucking fool with taking it on or off
