Vesectomy & Womens Birth Control
Moderator: Dictators in Training
My uncle had 2 vasectomies - of course this was back in the day and I imagine far less fool-proof, but he proceeded to have 3 kids after >.< well I mean he didn't get the 2 in a row, he got another after the next one was born, and had 2 more after the second.
I dunno exactly how it works, nor do I want to know (or watch that video) but is it more efficient than getting your tubes tied? From what I know with getting your tubes tied there's always the rare risk of them fusing back together or having one of those tube pregnancies.. what are they called, endoscopic or something like that.
I myself am getting an IUD on the 18th, I'm incredibly excited ~

I'm getting a Depo shot in a week, waiting 3 months and then getting an IUD. Reason I'm doing it this way is I dont want to bleed on Christmas leave (i dont have sex while on the rag) and I heard you bleed a bit after the IUD implantation.
Gyps, never get your tubes tied. There is a high risk of an etopic pregnancy and those are no good. As long as your boy shoots blanks after a V, there is no pregnancy. Always safe to make him do it.

Ouch. Yeah the old style vasectomy was much more invasive too. They actually cut out a chunk of the vasdefron. *shiver*

Are you breastfeeding? Depo will dry up your milk.
Also, the Depo shot can mess up your periods something fierce. You COULD wind up bleeding the whole Christmas leave. I'd just arrange The Pill so you're not on the rag then.
Thirdly...Depo is good for 6 months...why IUD after 3?
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

It's 12:22. First lol of the day. Good show.
No, I'm not breastfeeding. I'm a selfish whore and wanted my body back, plus I'm on antidepressants, so that stopped me also.
I thought Depo was good for 3 months. Hell, 6 months is even better. I dont bleed on Depo, I was on it after I had my daughter. No weight gain or fits of the crazy. I liked it.
I wont go on the pill because I suck at remembering to take them. Maybe I should just go buy a huge box of condoms. I've already had my period for the month (hello TMI) so I'm pretty safe there.
We'll see.

For some people.
I seem to always have that "rare" side effect. Like complete loss of appetite and (I think) hallucinations on my happy pill, no weight gain or mood swings on depo.
If you want low hormone and light period and a weight neutral birth control, ask about Minera (Mirena?). It's an implanted birth control that lasts 3 years, I think. That's my next choice after my depo shot this week.
I dont trust the patch, I forget pills, and I am not sticking my fingers all the way up my hooha for nonpleasurable purposes to put birth control up there myself. So implanted BC is a good choice for me

haha yeah a girl at work uses that ring thing and that just freaks me out, i don't think i'd feel protected at all (with that or the patch). to me, birth control needs to be something that's actually internalized for me to trust it hehe
i've never heard of that minera/mirena (hehe) stuff, i'll have to look it up.
i like the pill i'm on now (yaz) but it's kind of expensive and i am just terrible about remembering such things. :\ a shot or implant might be an awesome thing to spend my flex money on next year.
