So this seamstress is walking along the riverbank, and her thimble falls into the water. She starts crying, and God comes down and asks her what is wrong. She tells him that her husband works very hard and they still can not make ends meet, so she sews on the side for extra cash. Now that she has lost her thimble, and they can not afford another one, they are doomed. So God dives into the river and comes out with a gold thimble encrusted with diamonds, and says "Is this your thimble?" The woman says no. God dives in again and comes out with a platinum thimble encrusted in rubies. He asks her "Is this your thimble?" The woman says no. God goes back in to the water and comes out with an old beaten up leather thimble and asks her "Is this your thimble?" The woman says yes, and God said because she was so honest, she could keep all three thimbles.
Twenty years later the woman and her husband are walking by the same river bank, when her husband falls in and after sometime does not surface. She starts freaking out and God comes down and asks her what happened. She explained after so many years together, she just couldn't live without him. So God once again goes into the water and comes out with Mel Gibson. He asks "Is this your husband?" To which she replies YES!!!! God asks her why she lied. She explained that if she would have said no to Mel Gibson, he would have brought up Tom Cruise, and when she said no to Tom Cruise, God would have brought up her husband, and because of her honesty God would have given her all three men, and at her age she just couldn't handle that. She would just settle for Mel Gibson.
The moral of the Story is, Yes, women lie, but it is always for a good reason!!!
