Okay, I never told anyone this. Its kind of long so feel free to skip it.

It freaked me out when I realized what happened. About 5 years ago I was really sick. Doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me for over 3 months. What they finally found out was that my liver filtered and stored excess copper that caused the symptoms I was showing. They were constant nausea, vomiting, dillusions and blackouts. I was in bed for nearly a month.

Anyway, one night when I was feeling my worst and thought I was actually about to die, I swear to all that is holy that a man walked into my room with a baboon on a leash. Yes, a freaking baboon! He walked around to my side of the bed and the baboon crawled up onto my chest and sat there. I couldn't move to stop it and I couldn't breath and thought that this was it.. I was going to die! Then, one of my cats came into the room and hissed at the baboon. It looked at the man and climbed down off my chest ( I could breath again) and they left through the bedroom door. My cat stayed with me for the rest of the night and came to sleep with me every night after until they diagnosed me properly and treated me.

It freaked me out when I remembered what happened. I hadn't thought of ghosts as real until then. Now, I am a firm believer that there is definately something otherworldly. Its just an odd story I thought some of you might like to hear.

Sounds like a case of repressed sexual urges to me... monkey being bad, needs "spanked" but oh the holy man is there watching... then pussy saves you /shrug.

one night a couple months back around 3 or 4 in the morning, for no apparent reason i just woke up, one of my eyes just popped open, there was a shrouded figure leaning over my girlfriend. Looked like the grim reaper. Whatever it was doing it moved back into the closet, basicly phasing back by the beat of my heart and then just vanished. I was scared shitless of course. Told her about it of couse she got scared too. Apparently her mom saw one once too.
ohhhhhh rusteh.

How long did it take before House and his team figured out what was wrong?

You prefaced this with the fact that you were incredibly sick and thought you were going to die - I'm going to go with hallucination.

If you believe in ghosts, you are not looking hard enough for another explanation for what you think you've witnessed.

Ghosts
God did it
It was the booze, etc
I smoked but did not inhale

All easy ways out.

Good thing I can read brail.

Ghost don't have to be a spiritual belief. Many people believe that ghost or apparitions are just echoes of energy. Just like theres many locations all over the world where people all see the same" ghost" doing the same exact thing, maybe they are viewing the energy of a person long ago.

Ghost don't have to be some lost soul stuck on Earth because they weren't cool enough to get into heaven.

Exactly my point in the other thread...

There doesn't need to be any "spiritual" reason behind it, and given your example that is a completely scientific way to explain it.

Or maybe they are seeing nothing at all, hallucinating, seeing what they want to see, making shit up, etc. There are many other conclusions I would come to before I would be convinced it was a ghost.

I think it blows your mind Tossica, that things or events take place in the world that you can't understand, so you choose the easy way out and write them off as hallucinating.

That's cool though, to each their own.

What blows my mind is that in this day and age people still shout "GHOSTS DID IT! GOD DID IT! THE DEVIL DID IT!" etc at the first sign of something they might not be able to immediately explain.

I'll agree with your distaste in religious blasphemy but just because of that don't be so quick to dismiss all that is supernatural, when theres no one saying they are related.

Ghosts, god, the devil, the boogeyman etc are all concepts created by man to try to explain things that seemed unexplainable at the time. We should all know better by now.

When I was 15 I went out to visit my sister who was staying at my aunt's house in Phoenix. My aunt was gone for the night so my sister and I were just hanging out watching movies. I went to the family room near the front of the house so I could check my email on their computer while she was on the other side of the house in the entertainment room. I was sitting at the desk when I felt like someone was near me. I thought it was my sister so I thought nothing of it. Then I saw from my periphrial(sp?) vision someone walk out of my aunt's bedroom across the hallway into the bathroom...again I thought it was her so I thought nothing of it. I turned off the computer and went back to watch the movie and noticed my sister sound asleep curled up on the couch. I mentioned it the next day and they both told me that they have noticed a ghost or something in the house but he doesn't bother anyone...except I guess one night my sister woke up in the middle of the night and felt like someone was holding her down, like a force field..and she could not get up. After that I was freaked out ><
