Have you ever really seen a State of the Union address that there was not clapping etc.? There are certain pauses in speeches where people clap regardless. I did notice quite afew people not standing and clapping wich was odd for this. Democrat, or Republican on these speeches for TV they use noise enhancing techniques that make it sound louder, than if you were there.

Yeah, you're right. It's a conspiracy to make Bush's speech appear more powerful than it actually was.
