I hate the fact that election cycles never seem to end. We just had a frickin election a few months ago, and the primaries are a long ways away.

This is the problem with the oversaturation with media now a days.

I watched a little of this one, and a little of the DNC one and both were a huge waste of time.

True, though.

Elections and poll results (which might affect elections) are all they care about.

We should go back to states appointing Senators again. Making Senators electable by the populace is really where we went wrong.

who knew about Romney?

Yah, it is early. It's never too early to get to know the candidates though and I like the idea of getting a head start on that. You know there will be so much more to follow, and just wait for the shit-slinging. It's coming! This way, they have plenty of time for all of that.

I hate watching the after-math..and the way the analysts put it all into perspective for the viewers. That part seems like it is as important as the debates themselves, if you actually buy into what they say and many people do.

The problem is - who would they appoint, and by what standard?

I think the better solution is to limit senate and house members to *ONE* term only.

Just do it the way it was originally set up in the Constitution. Senators were appointed by the individual state legislature and are supposed to champion state rights instead of federal.

In Massachusetts, Democrats outnumber Republicans in both houses of the state legislature by an insane margin. I believe it's somewhere around 140-20 in the House of Reps and 35-5 in the Senate. They've had this 'super' majority in the General Court (what the state legislature is called in MA) for decades.

Just pointing this out because knowing these numbers, it's impossible for any single Republican Governor to solely leave the state in debt.

Deval Patrick recently blamed Romney for the deficit after taking office this year. It's scary to think that people in this state will believe virtually anything.

Isn't this the first state to allow "gay" marriages? I seem to recall some bull dyke celeb running up there to get in line at a courthouse or was that New Hampshire?
