Sure, but the way people obsess over their guns, there are a lot more of them to be stuffed into pants.

MOST people who 'obsess' over them have displays for them or lock them up. They have great respect for what they can do. It really boils down to wanting that feeling of power. It's not the violence they enjoy.

When you're 7 and have nightmares, it's a bit overboard, I'd say.

I guess I wouldn't call that "respect" but "fear" as in your father taught you fear not respect if it was done in such a way as to invoke nightmares.

When I was told stories about what could happen without proper respect, like someone I knew who blew his index finger and thumb off because he was using a shotgun as a walking sick it was in the context of bad things can happen when you don't exercise good judgment. This in contrast would be a far cry difference then showing someone bloody pictures of the incident.

Both of my UK buddies are bigger gun nuts than anyone I've seen here. When they came to Atlanta, their favorite thing to do was go to the range and shoot. They were mad they couldn't drink in there.. lol
