How in the holy fuck does that moron (Bill Callahan) still have a job? He has got to be one of the shittiest coaches in all of college football. This moron couldn't coach a pee-wee team without completely ass fucking it through the roof.

Fire this fucking stooge!!! Jesus God Almighty.... this fucknut has been losing games for Nebraska for how long now? Five years? AND HE"S STILL THERE?!?!

I don't think coaching is the problem in tonight's game against USC.

It was. Very much indeed a coaching problem.

i'd have to agree, and here's why

during the first quarter, NU's passing game was clicking well. we even went up 10-7 for a little while. then early in the second quarter, we stopped passing. i don't know why, i still can't figure it out-- but we switched to a ground game. and got stuffed pretty hard. but instead of thinking, "gee, our running game is coming up empty. what should we do? how about PASSING?" the overpaid and overrated callahan thought "well if we keep running, we'll get some points." no. moron. it wasn't until the fourth quarter, when all hope was lost, that our passing game resurfaced. lo and behold, we were able to tag on two more TDs at the end (and this was against the USC starters, since carroll is too much of an asshole to pull his a-team). if our O had played that way for the full game, it would have turned out differently! our D-line was another matter, of course, as the USC O-line manhandled them all night and opened up huge holes for gable and johnson to squirt through.

other things: pete carroll is still a fuckface. leaving your starters in when you're up 42-17 and not taking a knee with 20 seconds left are real dick moves. also, i still don't understand why booty is in the heisman discussion-- he was 19/30 for a total of 144 yards (big deal), and the only thing he did the whole rest of the game was hand the ball to johnson, gable, or washington. imho the player of the game was the USC O-line, they were tossing around the NU D-line like ragdolls and opening up holes you could drive a bus through.

doesn't matter i guess, no way the condoms are gonna get past LSU (or the sooners for that matter), their defense is murderous

also, my team won yaaaay:

I thought you went to Nebraska - Lincoln?

Anyway, as an alumni, it pisses me off to no end. Oh... hey... you're done TWO scores. There's 50 seconds left on the clock. You have one time out left. So what does Callahan decide to do? Run the clock out. RUN THE CLOCK OUT.

THAT is piss poor coaching.

Another problem with the D is their lack of tackling. I saw, on numerous occasions, players bouncing off USC receivers and backs. It works a LOT better when you actually wrap your arms around them...

As for Carol, yeah he's a did dickweed, BUT I can understand why he kept his first string on the field. You're bidding for a NC spot, you're trying to hold your number one spot... meanwhile you got LSU and Oklahoma steam rolling everyone they play.... it's best to put up all the points you can. I probably would have done the same thing.

As for USC, I believe Nebraska is the only ranked team they face/faced this year (like always they have a pussy schedule), so unless they get beat by UCLA, and taking into account how much the BCS loves them - they'll be in the national championship this year.

let me explain

yeah, i did go there. but while i was there, i became pretty disgusted with how players were treated like royalty. full ride scholarships, local celebrity status, steak and lobster for every meal, no jobs, easy classes they a) didn't even go to half the time and b) got free tutoring in order to pass, and off-field behavior that made them very poor role models for the thousands of kids (and grownups) looking up to them all over the state. meanwhile, though i did have an academic scholarship, i was eating the same mystery-meat-and-rice in the cafeteria every day, struggling to pay rent and bills (no TV!) with a part time job, and parking off-campus because i couldn't afford a parking tag. i took hard classes, i got docked for absenteeism, and i didn't get any free tutors. so during my time there and for a long time after, i pretty much hated the NU football program. fast forward to a couple years ago, when i moved in with a friend who had cable TV-- the first time i'd had cable TV since i was in college. one saturday i was bored, so i flipped on the tele and surfed around the football games. i got into a few, so i did the same the next couple of saturdays, and of all the dozens of teams i watched, i found that i most enjoyed watching the Red Raiders, due to their run-and-gun air raid style of offense. they had an okay year, and ended up in the Insight Bowl (lol) with minnesota, which wasn't even on cable so i had to watch it in a sports bar. they went down 31 points by halftime, and all the people i had sweet-talked into coming down to watch left except one. finally, about halfway through Q3, tech kicked on the afterburners and torched the gophers' D for 35 points and the win, posting the single greatest bowl comeback in NCAA football history-- and cementing them as my favorite team. i catch a lot of hell for it lmao

and yes, the huskers need to go back to tackle school.

oregon is looking pretty sharp this year, i'm hoping they give USC a good stomping

Yeah I can see that. But, I would bet it's pretty much like that at every big school - players being treated/acting as such.

I always said sports have become too important for schools - I understand that they do bring in a lot of money - but it's a university - a place of learning - not sports club.

Schools lose focus of this I think.

Cal also will give USC some trouble. They went out and recruit speed this past year. SC may have trouble keeping up.

i want USC to lose every game for the rest of booty's playing career just for his stupid-ass name. "john david booty." do we really have to get ALL THREE NAMES, all the time?!

How can you blame Carrol one bit for keeping his starters in and trying to run the score on a ranked opponent? With the way the BCS has been every year, you're going you never every single point you can get, and especially against tougher high ranked opponents.
