quick, gather up your time machine, bring back the 85 bears, any of the 70's steelers teams, 89 49ers, etc and we'll find out I guess

you can't really compare teams of different eras

but calling NE the greatest team ever after 6 games is just fucking retarded

if they win 14+ games and the SB then you can start making comparisons

If they get past Indy (which I have little doubt they will) the '72 Flounders won't be popping the cork this year. I'd damn near bet real money on that. Who's left to beat them? Pittspuke? :umno:

As for bangwagon... yeah... I think I've posted here numerous times over the years that NE has always been my *2nd* team and that I have in fact followed them longer than any other team INCLUDING the sorry ass Buffalo Nills (not a typo).

Btw... hey fishhead... you want to make a little bet on this weekend's game?

You have just said that you can't compare teams from different era's, yet everyone has posted how this or that team could have beaten today's Patriots. I simply pointed out that today's players, today's game is VERY different from yesteryear and that they in fact could not beat today's Patriots - Colts - Cowpatties - Jagoffs - or any other decent modern day team.

I agree that todays players are just bigger/stronger/faster than previous era's

it's still fun to try to compare modern teams to teams of the past~

Yes, that's right... because once you pick a team you can never ever ever change! That's YOUR team for the rest of your life. You can't get any more retarded than that - seriously.

Give it a few more years of the shitty Dolphins losing again and again and again... you'll get sick of it to the point you'll switch teams.

By the way...

You fit the perfect description of their retarded fans. Trust me, dude, I have to live down here with them inbred fucktards. Your silly adolescent shit on here and the way you discuss football isn't anything new to me. I hear that kind of shit day in and day out with the toothless, ignorant, and inbred hayseeds down here. You will fit in nicely with their ilk.

Just know that your jumping to whatever team is doing well and claiming it as a "2nd favorite" makes you look like a clueless "granny" fan at best and a punk ass fair-weather fan at worst.

I will never change my favorite teams just because they lose. See, that's your fucked up fair-weather mentality. It probably ties in to your abusive upbringing and the reason that you can never have a decent relationship.

Grow up...

Yeah, and YOU are sooo knowledgeable about football… tell us all again why you’re not a coordinator in the NFL, or why you’re not coaching some high ranked college team? Oh, that’s right, because you’re just another armchair quarterback who thinks they know more about the sport than they really do – just like the rest of us.

You “die hard” never waiver fans are pathetic when you try to blast others for their choices of teams to follow. You are not now, nor have you ever been, nor will you ever be a player for the Miami Dolphins. You do not own the Miami Dolphins. You don’t even live in Miami. Do you know any of the players personally? Are you dating one of the cheerleaders? Besides spending money on buying jerseys and T-shirts and that Dan Marino poster STILL hanging over your bed, what fucking ties do you have with the Dolphins? Oh wait – you like watching them getting destroyed year after year on TV.

Having a die hard allegiance to a college team of a university you actually ATTENDED is one thing, but this idiotic nonsense of never being allowed to leave behind a Pro team once you’ve made your choice is moronic. You wear it like a badge of honor. “Hey guys I have been a Dolphins fan since I was born!!! Look how cool I am!!!! I’m a REEEALLL fan!!”

NFL teams literally change every few years. Different players, difference coaches, in same cases even a different city. Nothing is left to consistency. Not even the names and or locations of the teams (hi Ravens).

So again I ask you… what ties do YOU have to that shitty squad of losers down in Miami? Oh, I can answer that… nothing… nodda… zilch… nill.

This macho, chest thumping, “look at me only REAL fans stick with their teams for ever and ever and ever” is no less moronic than the inbreds you’re so found of.

MAYBE, just MAYBE if you actually lived IN Miami you could be excused. But there you are in… in Alabama surrounded by all your kinz wearing your badge of honor and bragging about how true you are to a team you have no ties with.

Seriously, this is a sport. It’s entertainment. If you’re fan fair is THAT important to you, then you fit right in with the rest of the hillbillies right der in the backwoods of ‘Bama.

It's ONE thing if you've got a guy who runs out and buys the "hat" and changes teams to follow the winner of each year's Super Bowl - every year. That's a bandwagoner. These are the people who can’t more than two players of any given team. It’s ENTIRELY another when someone drops a shitty team after years upon years of losses and disappointment for anther team they’ve always followed to get a little enjoyment now and then and the satisfaction of enjoying a win.

The Bills suck. They’ve always sucked. They will always suck.

Do you know why I like NE so much? It has nothing to do with winning all the time. I like the fact they are hated so much by idiots like you. I like the fact they are reasonably humble off the field. I like they way they play together. I like the way the stick together. I like the way they give the rest of the league a big “eff you” when it collectively takes pop shots at them for getting caught doing something THEY ALL do. They’re a collection of good players with a lot of heart – and everyone hates them for it. And, they still go out there a kick ass. They have no single super stars - they go out there and collectively take it to the opponent.

I hope... I pray they put 80 points up against that shitstorm of a team you've proudly followed since birth - so then we can all sit back and like the rest of the NFL's fans... listen to you cry about having the score run up on your team.

Oh and I WILL be taking a trip up to Mass this year (if they make the SB) to watch it and celebrate with what few NE fans that are out there. That is going to be a blast.

You should have stuck with your original dumb-ass post that you deleted. It said basically the same thing and wasted less time. You still came off like a drunken tail-gater. The extra blathering didn't help your case, rather it cemented mine.

You make about as much sense talking about football as when you try to explain your fucked up relationships. You are about as knowledgeable in both cases.

Oh and by the way--learn how to read dipshit. I stated this in an earlier post. You were probably too drunk or too busy screaming "WOOO I ROCK-I ONLY ROOT FOR WINNING TEAMS!" In fact, it came right after your silly-ass excuse for an explanation of the 200 teams you root for-as long as they're winning.

Diekan wrote:So again I ask you… what ties do YOU have to that shitty squad of losers down in Miami?

I was born and spent the first 10 years of my life about 10 minutes from the Orange Bowl.

You are the lowest of the low, Diekan. You are a fair-weather fan. You are lower than the shit that oozes out of the sewers as far as the sports world is concerned.

WOW! You were born 10 MINUTES from the Orange Bowl!!!!

Now THAT is a good reason to be a fan!

Nice backpedal. Want to borrow a hankey to get the egg off of your face? Not just born, Diekan, here we go with your reading prowess again: "LIVED THERE FOR THE FIRST TEN YEARS OF MY LIFE!"

Want to edit or delete your post again? You asked for a tie to Miami, you stated I had nada, zilch, etc.

At least I don't jump ship when stuff gets bad for my team. I'm too mature for that stupid shit, man. What makes being a fan so special is being with that special team through all of the shit and then seeing them emerge some day triumphant. there is nothing anywhere near as good as THAT feeling, man. But you will never know, diek...you only open your dicksucker when a team is winning then "adopt" it as one of your own.

I'm done with you, Diek. I showed you the ass that you were. Anything from here on out from the likes of you is academic at best. Have fun jumping ships and rooting for the WINNARS!

Dear Cumrag,

O…M…G

I was being sarcastic.

Here:

Sarcasm from Greek σαρκασμός (sarkasmos), 'mockery, sarcasm' is sneering, jesting, or mocking a person, situation or thing. ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarcasm

Look, I understand that you’re from Alabama and thus such activities like reading and writing are still complicated skills to master. So, let me break this down AGAIN for you. This time I’ll do it slow and spell it out for you, k? If at any time you feel I am going too fast, just let me know and I’ll slow it down a bit for you backwoods, tobacco chewing ‘Bama ass.

Way back when… back in 1986 I watched the Chicago Bears beat the New England Patriots 44 to 10 in the Super Bowl. I hadn’t really followed NFL all that much and didn’t have a favorite team. For some reason I found myself liking and rooting for the Pats. Maybe it was because they were the underdogs. Maybe it was because of the music video with them pushing a refrigerator into the bay. I really don’t know ‘why’ I was drawn to them, but I was. Yet, I didn’t really consider them my “favorite.” Despite that fact, however, I continued to watch them when I could and follow them through the paper. Yes, back in 1985 the Internet wasn’t yet the information superhighway it is today – just a little history tidbit. I know in ‘Bama things like electricity are just now becoming “main stream.”

So, move on to 1990. I “found” the Bills. I loved watching Kelly throw. I loved watching Bebee catching and tearing up the yards. Metzelaars and Reed were always favorites too; of course who could ever forget the Thruminator. They had a lot of heart, a lot of spirt, and it seemed to center around, or rather emanate from Marv. They were my favorite team. Watching Bruce Smith and Parker in action was always a blast – win OR lose. Why? Because they tried, they cared, they wanted it. However, I never stopped following NE either and the “era” of Coates. I cheered for NE all the time except for those games when they faced the K-gun and co.

I cheered for the greatest come back in NFL history orchestrated by Reich. I stuck with them when Kelly came back and they ended up losing… not one, not two, but FOUR Super Bowls.

Then it died. The spirit, the heart, the chemistry – everything. They turned into shit and stayed that way for more than a decade, with NO outward desire to do anything better. Year after year, loss after loss. The attitudes changed, the personnel changed. These are not the Bills of then. They’re terrible, not just because they lose all the time, but because they seem to not even care. It’s as if they don’t even try. I turned my back on them because they are losers. They’ve turned away from the heart and spirit of the earlier Bills. They acquired people like Henry (a thug) (and who is now gone) with little to no regard for the character or quality of person they drafted / traded / whatever. Now when I say losers, I not talking about the "score board." I am not talking about winning records necessarily as much as I am in the fact they just don't give a fuck - or at least don't even act like they give a fuck. There's more to being a loser than simply losing a game - which is something you have first hand knowledge about.

I followed NE through it’s down time too. And, there’s a hell of a lot of it. Losing records (tons of them), scandals, you name it.

Still with me? I haven’t lost you yet have I? I know there’s a lot of big words here, but there are plenty of online dictionaries should you run into trouble. Just copy and paste the big word into Google and type “define” in front of it.

This New England team embodies the same principles, the same heart and spirit that the Bills of the early did. I find that refreshing.

And, oh if I really wanted to jump the so called “bandwagon” I would have dropped the Bills THREE Super Bowls ago. So eat a dick… eat a bowl of dick you cock monkey.

As for the other teams? Ok, do I really need to explain that yet again?

I guess I do. Again, if you get lost, let me know and I’ll slow down for you, umkay?

Nebraska – I have a graduate degree FROM the University of Nebraska. Now I don’t know about you, but seems to me that actually EARNING a degree FROM the school gives me more of a right to “be” a fan than simply being born 10 minutes from the campus, ya think? Or, does that make too much sense?

Ohio State – I was born and raised in Ohio. I have tons and tons of family and friends who graduated from OSU. I grew up watching OSU. I know, I wasn’t born 5 feet from the stadium… but anyway.

I also like ‘Bama… why? Just because I fucking do. Do I really NEED a reason? Do I really NEED to justify “why” I like the Crimson Tide? Doesn’t mean they’re my favorite. Well, that and I will more than likely be a PhD student there in the next year or so - maybe.

In fact if I had to choose a “favorite” college team, I’d have to think hard… UNL or OSU…. Hmmm…. Let’s just hope for my sake they never face each other in the NC! If either of them face Bama in the NC, then I’d be pulling against the Tide. Feel me?

Wheh.. explaining this all again to an idiot is draining.

But, I can understand your angst. Your precious Dolphins are easily on their way to surpass the Bills as being the shittiest team in history. Your precious “U” is loaded with criminals and can’t pull off a decent season anymore. Oh, and Auburn…

Ohh hey… wait a second now…. Are you an Auburn fan or a U of Miami fan? You can’t be both now can you? Pot meet kettle!

Is that explanatory enough?

Oh sorry…

Explanatory:

serving or intended to explain or make clear; "explanatory notes"; "an explanatory paragraph"

By the way, bitch. ROLL TIDE!

Diek--you fail to notice that I never questioned why you follow the myriad of teams you claim to root for. That was you that questioned origins, remember? Thanks for the waste of bandwidth though. Maybe someone will read through it. My problem with you is that you play this "six degrees of Kevin Bacon" whenever a team is doing well so you can ride on the coattails of a winning team all the while claiming to be a "true fan".

Once again, read, son. I attended Auburn University. I didn't honestly follow college football before 1983, because it wasn't MANDATORY down there the way it is here. I picked one, and stuck with it and later attended there. it is a beautiful place, very unlike the fucking ghetto Tuscaloosa is. Miami Dolphin football in that area, however, is very much mandatory. =) (Unless you're one of them god damned transplanted Jew Yorkers.)

Give it up, Diekan. You're a fair-weather fan. You are the crud that takes up space in the fan space of sports. You are appreciated by no one and loathed for being the shallow pathetic creature that you are. Your claims of "my team is doing great, yeah!!" are ignored because you were never there for the bad times. You admit to leaving a team if they are losing. WTF?

Go ahead and type a few more two page drunken rants about why anyone should think otherwise.

Lastly...be a fucking man and admit you fucked up...don't take the punk ass route and say "umm umm I WAS JUST BEIGN SARCASTIC--YEAH THAT'S WHAT I WAS DOING HA HA HA YOU FOOL YOU DIDN'T NOTICE DID YOU!"

I find it almost impossible to believe that you possess half of the credentials you claim to have considering how you write/behave on here. It's hard to "fake" being as ignorant as you come off.

Here's a suggestion:

Soooo, let me make sure I get this straight. You're not allowed to favoritize (that's not a real word, I just made that up, Raindow Charlie can explain) a team you already followed IF they're winning, right? You have to wait until they have a losing season before you can follow them? That makes perfect sense!

Seems you missed the part that I said it wasn't JUST about them losing games...

Yeah, I make it a point to spellcheck and correct grammar on an Internet message board. (I am being sarcastic, just so you know).
