Dear Cumrag,
O…M…G
I was being sarcastic.

Look, I understand that you’re from Alabama and thus such activities like reading and writing are still complicated skills to master. So, let me break this down AGAIN for you. This time I’ll do it slow and spell it out for you, k? If at any time you feel I am going too fast, just let me know and I’ll slow it down a bit for you backwoods, tobacco chewing ‘Bama ass.
Way back when… back in 1986 I watched the Chicago Bears beat the New England Patriots 44 to 10 in the Super Bowl. I hadn’t really followed NFL all that much and didn’t have a favorite team. For some reason I found myself liking and rooting for the Pats. Maybe it was because they were the underdogs. Maybe it was because of the music video with them pushing a refrigerator into the bay. I really don’t know ‘why’ I was drawn to them, but I was. Yet, I didn’t really consider them my “favorite.” Despite that fact, however, I continued to watch them when I could and follow them through the paper. Yes, back in 1985 the Internet wasn’t yet the information superhighway it is today – just a little history tidbit. I know in ‘Bama things like electricity are just now becoming “main stream.”
So, move on to 1990. I “found” the Bills. I loved watching Kelly throw. I loved watching Bebee catching and tearing up the yards. Metzelaars and Reed were always favorites too; of course who could ever forget the Thruminator. They had a lot of heart, a lot of spirt, and it seemed to center around, or rather emanate from Marv. They were my favorite team. Watching Bruce Smith and Parker in action was always a blast – win OR lose. Why? Because they tried, they cared, they wanted it. However, I never stopped following NE either and the “era” of Coates. I cheered for NE all the time except for those games when they faced the K-gun and co.
I cheered for the greatest come back in NFL history orchestrated by Reich. I stuck with them when Kelly came back and they ended up losing… not one, not two, but FOUR Super Bowls.
Then it died. The spirit, the heart, the chemistry – everything. They turned into shit and stayed that way for more than a decade, with NO outward desire to do anything better. Year after year, loss after loss. The attitudes changed, the personnel changed. These are not the Bills of then. They’re terrible, not just because they lose all the time, but because they seem to not even care. It’s as if they don’t even try. I turned my back on them because they are losers. They’ve turned away from the heart and spirit of the earlier Bills. They acquired people like Henry (a thug) (and who is now gone) with little to no regard for the character or quality of person they drafted / traded / whatever. Now when I say losers, I not talking about the "score board." I am not talking about winning records necessarily as much as I am in the fact they just don't give a fuck - or at least don't even act like they give a fuck. There's more to being a loser than simply losing a game - which is something you have first hand knowledge about.
I followed NE through it’s down time too. And, there’s a hell of a lot of it. Losing records (tons of them), scandals, you name it.
Still with me? I haven’t lost you yet have I? I know there’s a lot of big words here, but there are plenty of online dictionaries should you run into trouble. Just copy and paste the big word into Google and type “define” in front of it.
This New England team embodies the same principles, the same heart and spirit that the Bills of the early did. I find that refreshing.
And, oh if I really wanted to jump the so called “bandwagon” I would have dropped the Bills THREE Super Bowls ago. So eat a dick… eat a bowl of dick you cock monkey.
As for the other teams? Ok, do I really need to explain that yet again?
I guess I do. Again, if you get lost, let me know and I’ll slow down for you, umkay?
Nebraska – I have a graduate degree FROM the University of Nebraska. Now I don’t know about you, but seems to me that actually EARNING a degree FROM the school gives me more of a right to “be” a fan than simply being born 10 minutes from the campus, ya think? Or, does that make too much sense?
Ohio State – I was born and raised in Ohio. I have tons and tons of family and friends who graduated from OSU. I grew up watching OSU. I know, I wasn’t born 5 feet from the stadium… but anyway.
I also like ‘Bama… why? Just because I fucking do. Do I really NEED a reason? Do I really NEED to justify “why” I like the Crimson Tide? Doesn’t mean they’re my favorite. Well, that and I will more than likely be a PhD student there in the next year or so - maybe.
In fact if I had to choose a “favorite” college team, I’d have to think hard… UNL or OSU…. Hmmm…. Let’s just hope for my sake they never face each other in the NC! If either of them face Bama in the NC, then I’d be pulling against the Tide. Feel me?
Wheh.. explaining this all again to an idiot is draining.
But, I can understand your angst. Your precious Dolphins are easily on their way to surpass the Bills as being the shittiest team in history. Your precious “U” is loaded with criminals and can’t pull off a decent season anymore. Oh, and Auburn…
Ohh hey… wait a second now….
Are you an Auburn fan or a U of Miami fan? You can’t be both now can you? Pot meet kettle!
Is that explanatory enough?
Oh sorry…
