This is nothing. Go on the AV and serious forums and watch the huge fireworks there. It's reminiscent of NT circa 2001.

At the end of the day I respect Toss and would have a beer with him any day and shoot the breeze. I have several real life friends who hold the same position as him. I like good discussions, and there are too few people on this board who are serious and intense like T is, but at the same time can see the big picture and compartmentalize a debate vs a person.

Back on message.. HD DVD wtfpwned hard again.. Blu-ray once again massively pulls ahead. The millions of Blu-ray players worldwide versus the less than 1/10th amount of HD DVD players out there.

TOKYO (Reuters) - U.S. sales of Sony Corp's PlayStation 3 (PS3) more than doubled in the weeks following a price cut and the launch of a lower-priced version, the company said on Friday, in a sign of changing fortunes for the game console.

Sony said it sold about 75,000 PS3 consoles in the week of October 29 in the United States, and more than 100,000 in the following week, compared with weekly sales of 30,000 to 40,000 before.

Sony cut the U.S. price of its PS3 with an 80-gigabyte hard disk drive by 17 percent to $499 in mid-October. It started selling a new model with a 40-GB hard drive on November 2 for $399 in an effort to ignite demand ahead of the crucial holiday season.

Sony, locked in battle with Microsoft Corp and Nintendo Co Ltd in the global videogame market, suffered a slow start for the PS3 after its launch a year ago because of high prices and a scarcity of strong game titles.

Wow, I bet they must have like a 10-1 lead in Blu-Ray sales now, right? Huh? Less than 2-1? You mean the BR attach rate is less than .25 now? Holy shit... Sony must be taking it up the ass HARD. Ouch. Even after they blew their load with Spiderman 3, Rataouille and Cars they could still barely manage a 1.5-1 ratio with nearly 10 times the amount of hardware?

Well, maybe they'll eventually run out of PS3s to sell and the hemorrhaging will stop.

I know this is supposed to be a HD-DVD/BR thread but the 360 still outsold the PS3 almost 3-1 even with the price cut. That's gotta make you feel good.

He's the worst hippie I've ever seen.

He sucks off Micro$oft like he's a hooker on a crack binge while he jerks off a handful of other huge companies. Then he'll cry about companies not caring about people in another thread.

Ha! You praise a fire sale which costs Toshiba big bucks showing they are desperate, then attack a PS3 small cut as something major.

Too bad the 360 has nothing to do with a Blu-ray vs HD DVD, except for the 15 people who bought the HD addon.

Meanwhile, more and more Blu-ray capable machines keep hitting the market, widening the gap of households that can play BR vs the few that can play HDDVD.

Christmas will widen that gap immensely more as the PS3 sales go up.

Haha, you are the one that made the conversation about consoles. I was just pointing out that the PS3 is still getting it's ass kicked by both of it's competitors.
