I think you're way wrong
I think digital download will end up with a larger market share than blu-ray (didn't matter which standard won out, download will wtfpwn it all)

So was HD DVD, and yet you pushed it like crack ho behind on rent.
You are being hypocritical here.
BR offers more to many, as it is standard on the PS3 and has large tecnological advances compared to standard DVD. As more and more buy big HD TVs, the BR will move to the mainstream and replace DVDs, just as DVDs replaced VCRs.
Bluray is a new technology, and will take time to become more affordable and the norm. Things were tougher due to the war with HD. Now things should stabilize and many who sat out the early adoption will move, as will many current HD DVD people.

Ah, more shit I never said and no point. I get it. Shut the fuck up. Cool?

HD DVD was 1/2 the price and offered the ability to play the HD disks in existing DVD players. That alone made it a FAR better value than BR

I still don't really see how this is even relevant
why would anyone pay a premium for something they can't use? Like, I understand if you 100% knew you were going to go to HD DVD in 6 months, to a year that it might make sense, but most people won't replace the DVD player until it dies, and then just buy the one that's on sale
I would think you'd see very few people buying HD DVD's to play in their regular DVD player

How long did it take for you to google that up? Nice try but incorrect. I'll give you a hint, it starts with P and ends with Y.

For the record, the 360 add on outputs 1080p just fine but I had no use for it.
Tossica wrote:As far as the studios wanting more copy protection, I can see that but unfortunately that didn't work out too well for them did it? BD+ was cracked within weeks of the first disc being released.
The pathetic amount of quality new film releases will not keep a new format afloat. They need to sell their back catalog titles and keep milking that cash cow. Don't let the hype fool you. NONE of the studios are happy with the sales on HD media. They have sucked and hard all the way around.

What? Are you saying 1080p isn't better?

Apparently for someone who likes to spend money on home theater, you don't even own a 1080p TV, now why on earth would you even want a Blu-Ray player if it drops under $200 again?

You're half right about that. BD+ was cracked TO the hard drive, nobody has a software to burn it to disc yet. The other thing is, its not as easy as copying DVD. There's a buttload of DVD burners and software to record with. DVD media are pretty damn cheap too. Eventually blu-ray will be fully cracked but right now it isn't.
Oh and Paramount has gone blu, Michael Bay is one happy mofo.
Transformers was fun but only because I can enjoy it with my 12 year old son. Other than that, the man has made the absolute worst piece of shit films ever to come out of Hollywood IMO.
Tossica wrote:Yay. I just love Michael Bay movies...Transformers was fun but only because I can enjoy it with my 12 year old son. Other than that, the man has made the absolute worst piece of shit films ever to come out of Hollywood IMO.
I want high def movies because I have a kick ass HD projector that makes even 720p source material look fantastic, that's why. My home theater is very budget oriented and I only buy things when they are a good deal. 1080p was NOT a good deal at the time I purchased my projector and honestly, even at 109" and sitting 12' away the detail I am missing would be barely noticable. How large is your 1080p display and how far back do you sit? I'm curious. Most PS3 fanboy douchebags like yourself are watching on 37" displays sitting 10 feet away and wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 1080 source and a 480 source realistically.
Layer upon layer of copy protection on media is fucking STUPID and is a waste of the consumers time and money, hence consumer UNfriendly. If they priced the media properly, there would be no need for piracy because the consumer could buy the real deal for close to the cost of the pirated media without all the hassle of trying to crack it.
Bloodberri wrote:I guess you missed the part where I said I have a 360 right? If you're going to call me a fanboy, at least own all 3 consoles first. And I own a 46 1080p, 6-10feet away because my room isn't that big and its very close to my bed. And wtf, 12 year old son, how fucking old are you?
I don't like Michael Bay, guy is a douchebag. If you remember when paramount went HD-DVD, he said no Transformers 2 for him. A few days later he comes back and makes an excuse that he was drunk when he was typing it. In other words, a fat check by paramount made him swallow his pride. Also Transformers was alright, I hate how they fucked up Prime's face and imo bumblebee should've been a VW beatle.

So what the fuck is your point again?
You think I'm too old to enjoy HD media? Michael Bay is employed by Paramount? You thought Transformers was alright? That's great. Now shut the fuck up.
Thanks.
PS. at 10ft from a 47" you are just as well off with a 720p TV as you are not going to be able to see the extra resolution that 1080 offers. I'm happy you enjoy your PS3 and Blu Rays though, good for you!

Who the fuck has their main theater in their BEDROOM? Oh, I'd guess it's probably someone living with their parents, being a know-it-all fuckhead on a message board. How shocking.

Wait a second...
What the fuck am I talking about? Anyone that still lives with their parents yet has a 46" 1080p display and all 3 modern consoles needs to get a life and move out!
Anyhow, you are still new here so I'll let your indignation go this time. Be careful though, you wouldn't want to finawin. People who finawin have a rough time here sometimes and have tougher than usual obstacles to overcome in real life as well due to their self inflicted social retardation. You've still got time to turn yourself around before it's too late.
How's the reaming Lyion gave you a few pages back, still butthurt?
Tossica wrote:Tikker wrote:neither, I just download highdef content
At 20-30GB per film, that seems like a pretty stupid thing to do when you can get these nice convenient optical media disks with everything on them all ready for not all that much money.
