Well, a little bit of a back story:
One day in November, Langston/Ugzug and I were talking and joking around, and he brought up the cruise that we're going on this summer for his sister's 25th wedding anniversary. This reminded me that I needed to see if I could check on the status of my passport - I was getting it changed changed to my married name, and had sent it away with all the documentation. There were all these horror stories going around about how passports were taking
months to come back, so I wanted to get it finished sooner rather than later. I made a comment about needing to look into that, and wondering how long it would take. He sort of gave me a side-long look and said "well, I guess Vienna is out for Christmas then," to which I responded, "Uh .. yeah...
OK".
Well, as it turns out, he
wasn't joking, and he had planned it with the travel agent where he was going to hand me the tickets on Christmas Eve and tell me to start packing. As I had no passport, he had to cancel the plans.
As it turned out, my passport came about 2 weeks later, well before Christmas.
Langston was disappointed he had been unable to surprise me with the trip, but promised he'd make up for it, so he set about planning another "surprise trip". I say surprise in quotation marks, because even though I knew *when* we were going, he refused to tell me where - or even give me any hints. He did all the research and planning and had everything laid out. All he told me is that I would feel "taken care of."
He would tease me, telling me that he was just building up the anticipation and that it was actually going to be an RV trip around Kentucky, and joking about how we were going to hit up every Blue Grass festival in the state.
Well, today, after months of building up the suspense, he finally revealed our destination.
We're going to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas! http://www.atlantis.comHe's revealing more and more details of our trip, including what building we're staying in, the type of room, and the fact that we'll be picked up from the airport in a limo!
I am
incredibly excited, and since my friend called in sick to work today, and I am bursting with the need to share so I figured I'd come to the boards and let you all see the Langston that
I get to see! The compassionate, sweet, thoughtful, loving person he can be, and how much he dotes upon his wife
Also - if anyone has ever been to the area/stayed in the resort, I would
LOVE advice on what to see/do and tips on what to avoid. What restaurants do we need to hit? Any local things we need to do? We only have 4 precious days and I really want to make the most of it - so any helpful thoughts would be
wonderful. Thank you!
I'M GOING TO ATLANTIS!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!
