Wonder how much of a ripple effect this will have elsewhere? Supposedly, the California Supreme Court is one of the most influential ones in the nation. Also, before anyone goes there, 6 of the 7 members on the court were appointed by Republicans, so it's also a fairly conservative court.

Yeah, it's pretty fantastic how 4 arrogant radical activist judges can just overrule an initiative that was voted down by the majority of the residents of California twice, thereby flipping the bird to the U.S. Constitution, the majority of California residents, and our voting system. I will vote down a bill that would let you walk in public because you are left handed, but that doesn't mean it would be constitutional to deny you that right in the first place.
Denying people basic liberties in life because they want to do something a little bit different, but with the same message is pretty constitutional huh?

And after more thought myself I'm wondering if that was a hidden agenda of the republicans that ruled for this. The general populace is something like 60/40 against gay marriage. This could cause some independents to sway to McCain. I don't think this will bring any additional issue to the DNC nominee but once that nominee is 100%, I can see this being a big deal. Perhaps the lefties fell into a sneaky little trap set by the righties
