greatest rock vocalist of all time is probably Freddie Mercury tho. definitely the most versatile

i think a lot of singers could take vocal lessons from him. he had a lot of energy, originality, attitude, range, and diversity

nope, not at all. can you guys even say anything bad about Cobain? other than he was mind-numbingly famous and you don't like him because 50,000,000 other people like him too and he's the poster child for a sad depressed musician? because i can look past all that and listen to his demo and home recordings and some amazing live work (even unplugged was pretty good) and walk away totally satisfied. he fit his style of music extremely well. and in case you can't tell, i'm just comparing him to his contemporaries. i can't think of any better rock vocalist in the early '90s that was still putting out important records

if you're comparing him to a singer like freddie mercury then that's retarded because they're not even similar at all, other than they both sang in bands. let's compare bach to bartok next

there isn't a best rock vocalist, because everyone listens to different kinds of rock. i'll never give freddie mercury the kind of credit you think he deserves because Queen actually makes me laugh IRL when i hear it. it just sounds so transsexual and lame. and i'm sure you feel the same about Nirvana

btw there are 2 issues with a "best vocalist" thing

1. great singers tend to get discounted cause they only perform in 1 style.
