Honestly, it doesn't surprise me that the tests would have been tossed when only 1 minority had passed. Had they not tossed out the tests, there would have been an uproar from the minorities about not getting promoted because they were not white. I have no problem with minorities, but minority groups are definitely an issue. They stop comparing individuals, they compare race. The specific qualifications of the individuals has become less important then their race.
The fire departments are one of the hardest hit by this. There are a significant number of under qualified people employed because of their race, while more qualified people are not due to these groups. I dont know about you, but if my house is on fire, I will feel better being saved by the best qualified firefighters not the most ethnically diverse firefighters.
Oh and New Haven CT really does have the best pizza.
