When Alfred Nobel died on December 10, 1896, it was discovered that he had left a will, dated November 27, 1895, according to which most of his vast wealth was to be used for five prizes, including one for peace. The prize for peace was to be awarded to the person who "shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding of peace congresses."

Did it ever occur to you that he may completely believe in global warming and feel that he is truly trying to save everyone from what he believes is a real and imminent threat to the planet? Just because you don't believe that global warming is a threat doesn't make his actions a scam.

lol you are sooo racist.
A non changing tech over the course of centuries can be nothing but bad.
My being for coal has little to do with my disbelief for global warming. Sure, most of the people around here dont believe in global warming just because they dont want to see coal go away, but based on the research Ive done on it, from BOTH sides of the argument, I do NOT believe in the problem, if one at all. In fact, to go at it from another angle, I see coal as an ANSWER for this. Especially on the terms of going energy independent. The technology for cleaner coal technology exists. Its right on front of our faces, just look at the research MIT has done (in which, I think I should also mention, the government has cut off most of their funding to it, rather than trying to help solve the problem). The government is willing to put billions upon billions of dollars into research for other kinds of energy that we havent been able to produce yet, but they wont put funding into research for existing technology. You honestly think we can power this country on a bunch of windmills and dams? To take the place of coal that powers over 50% of the country? To become energy independent, I truly believe coal is the best answer, or at least the main part of it. Hell, there are even coal to liquid plants being built right now. In china of course, not here, this government passed up that contract for one in Illinois. They spend our money on stupid bullshit like cash for clunkers, but nothing that could be good. That technology could even help ween us away from foreign oil for gods sake, and its looked over like a rock. I think the coal industry would be a lot better off if they would go ahead and ban mountaintop removal. In fact, I would LOVE to see that. The mountains i love are being destroyed from it. And on top of that, it would help MY side of the industry. The demand would stay the same with or without it, so t here would have to be more underground mines, which I build machinery for. So fuck yeah, get rid of that shit, good riddance.
