No offense Arlos, but talking about FOW when the game was brand spanking new pre ROK and LOS guild 2-3 years later is complete apples and oranges. You really didnt spend almost any time guilded with me. Sanct and Euph were 95% of my EQ time.

We had NO other contact with Blizzard, period. Certainly less than FOH, who had a EQ dev in their guild. We had NO resources in my entire time in the guild apart from the people we had. Period.
Blizzard?

SOE, sorry. heh.
And no, we had no batphone as a guild. Closest thing would've been me, cause I hung out in an IRC channel with the spell dev along with the AL folks, but the communication was all one way, pretty much. You can thank me for the change that let people actually click buffs off, where before you couldn't. I badgered him for weeks for that, and finally had to give him a complete list of all buffs that had an associated debuff component, so that they wouldn't be click-offable before he'd do it.

If you think LoS had batphone compared to other guilds, you're sadly mistaken
McQuaid was IN FoH
Afterlife has 2 dev's playing with them
As did Triton
You keep dreaming that. I suppose it gives you comfort to think that you and your own guilds' inadequacies and inability to compete with an actual competant guild were due to some mythical "insider information links." Of course, they didn't actually exist anywhere except in your own deluded fantasies. LOS dominated everything because they had the highest percentage of skilled people of any other guild on the server, AND they had the best leadership on the server. Sanctuary, while it existed AS Sanctuary was a joke, not because it didn't have some good people in it, cause it did, but because the leadership was incapable of finding their own ass with both hands. Remember "We almost have enough keyed to hold the inzone of Veeshan's Peak!" hrm?

Hey, there's valid proof you had insider info and were given special treatment from the highest levels. Its fact, and not open for debate.
You can say it was only a few times or whatever, but once a cheater, always a cheater.
I find it ironic you namecall other guilds after getting preferential treatment, early beta and expansion invites and other treatment the rest of the guilds on NT didnt have.
Its a shame you wont ever be able to look back and realize you accomplished on your own, like we did. Keep lying to yourself, but then you were just a low level LOS minion and doubtless had no clue what the guild leadership knew and did. Thats fine, ignorance from a bottom feeder is expected.
I was guilded with the Blizzard crew long before you, Arlos. I knew exactly who they had contacts with. You obviously didn't.

You just keep thinking that the only reason you were 2nd place is because we had some mythical "inside infoz" if that's what it takes to make you feel adequate. Yes, I know about the 1 item move from before I ever joined. I also know how we got through every single strat, since I helped develop a lot of them as one of or the primary puller, and I also know how much we had to fight to even get ahold of GMs at times, like when the server kept crashing when we were doing Trakanon. Oh, and I was far from a bottom-feeder, thanks, but believe whatever floats your boat and keeps your illusions alive.

Love it
This post brought back memories of Mitty and the Golden coin, blasting druids in East Commonlands, King camp in Sol.B, Karnor's trains, Sebilis(glowing red sphere), Veeshan's Peak, exploring the halls of NToV with LOS, Giants of Kael, Velketor, Dain, and an endless more memories.
We never had inside information on any of the raids I attended. We would adjust our methods depending on the outcome. I enjoyed my time in EQ, and occasionally play my mage from time to time. With all the new expansions and changes, I find myself visiting old zones and soloing most of the time. The spark of old EQ is gone for me. If I could, I would do it all over again.

Dude, there were 72 episodes of original Star Trek.
NUH UH There were 73!
Noone cares how you got through on a VIDEO GAME lol. Cong on your "achievements" and cong on knowing the right people to help you. Cong on being 1st and 2nd place in a pretty much dead video game. Are you going to put that on your headstone? Because if not, it seems pretty petty and pointless to argue over.
Sok, your dog is very cute.

Sok, I'm just playing with Arlos. He takes this shiite way too serious. Don't take anything I posted as my beliefs <unless you're Arlos!>
I was debating posting more today, breaking out photo shop and Gordon Gecko pics and firing this up a la old school, but unfortunately its too tough not to bust up laughing, and I have way too much work on my plate today. A shame too since there is so much insider trading it would do Wall Street proud!
Arlos, why would LOS have problems getting hold of the server GM when one of your members was sleeping with him? I forgot that tidbit in my playing, but that's another insider fact and I'll laugh if you claim ignorance of it. It means I knew your old guild better than you!
Darc I just watched that South Park episode..Weird. We're just playing for old times sake. Not like it's serious, as I haven't really played EQ for four years. In addition to not winning EQ, I'm a quitter.

Man we had some of the best posts happen back then though. I mean between, you, Fell and people in LoS who used to be in Sant I never laughed so hard in my life.
I remember Fell removing Flink so many times LOL.

You gotta admit, too, that Sanc was pretty gimp back then. We just absorbed the best people when it imploded after Fell's brilliantly conceived "Lets depop the dain!" plan.
-Arlos
Nobody could flame like Zeek. I talked with him several times after he had just ripped someone an asshole (me included occasionally) and we laughed alot. That motherfucker better be doing some creative writing now.

Arlos wrote:There were good people in Sanc, notice my comment about "absorbing the best people". Sanc just had a lot of really BAD people (see: Ixnay), and some of the worst guild leadership in the history of Nameless. I won't say EQ, cause at least Sanc guild leadership never, say, E-Bayed the guild bank and used it to pay for vacations to the Bahamas, like happened elsewhere, but Fell was about as inept a leader as you can get. Not to mention his being a raving psychopath. (Bass Fishing!)
-Arlos
His leadership skills were fine it was his ability to keep his mouth shut when it came to anyone in LoS that he failed at. For the most part he kept the guild moving in a forward direction, now once people started getting sick of the drama or quit EQ that's when Sanct started falling apart.
