if you like being spoonfed shit, with easy to follow walk thru guides, I suggest you get a lobotomy and play WoW
Vanguard will force you to actually think, and play the game, unlike WoW

Not sure. Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm not a huge Conan fan, but a co-worker is and has been keeping an eye on this:

With a mature rating and some pretty graphic combat and a mature rating (one scene I watched one person beheaded another in combat complete with gratuitous blood spray) the game is being toted as an mmorpg for adults.
Combat, both Pvp and Pve sounds somewhat like the Oblivion combat style where aiming where you swing your weapon will matter ect.

No I don't want to be spoonfed anything, but go look at the epic quest for EQ. Some of the key words are random and theres no way in fuck you could draw them out of context with the conversation your having with that NPC.
Easier to use quest menu's would be nice. Not to the extent of "?" "!", but, keeping track of NPC's conversation with you and actually keeping it organized would be nice.
I also want to know if its soloable or you have to group, and of theres alot downtime associated with them. What sucks about WoW is that every exp mob is intended to be solable with shitty gear so with decent gear it's a snooze fest.
The entire time I played WoW I wished it was more group oriented like Everquest was.. but now that I'm back playing EQ1 most nights I get pissed off because it's harder than fuck to get a group. It's either hardcore peeps grouping only in guild, or it's absolute retards farming dain Monster Missions over, and over again. With EQ in it's current form/generation that is.
I have no clue what Vanguard is like, but an ideal MMO to me would allow you to get good experience with small groups of 2-3 people, but of course benefiting you more with a full group of 6.

mechanics wise, Vanguard is pretty much exactly that
mechanics wise, it's an awesome fusion of EQ and WOW
graphically it sucks donkey balls, and it plagued by most of the same issues that EQ was

Thanks for the info again Tikker. Graphically with a 5k comp it looks amazing from the video's I've seen, as does Everquest2. Graphically, with my aged comp and the settings adjusted appropiately, Everquest2 looked like dog shit. I plan on buying a new comp come January, and i'm hoping that by then they will have tweaked the code even further, and the new rig will easily handle the game turned up with some room to grow, as opposed to barely being able to keep up 30-40 FPS. One can only hope I guess.
An awesome fusion of WoW and EQ makes me pretty excited :D

it's not bad, reallyBurgy99 wrote:Alot of peoples responses are to the tune of " Awesome idea's, but the game needs more time ".
Do you think theres any way possible that they could make it a "good" game by January ? How "bad" is bad I guess.
right now, it's just EQ1 with different mechanics
graphic wise, it's very Luclinish (ie very dated compared to EQ2 or WoW)
it also runs on my 6600gt like Luclin would run on a geforce2

Well suffice it to say that if your card does not support the shader models within the game you will not even be able to launch the game at this point.
