Well you're not supposed to have sex for 7 days after you get the thing inserted, and it's ideal to get it inserted while on your period because your uterus is already open and they can slip it in easier - unfortunately for me, I started early this month so I have to deal with the discomfort of a closed uterus when I get mine put in - that and I've never had a kid, and *usually* they more recommend it for women who've already had at least one kid

And yeah, I would never do the shot - my sister gained something like 30 pounds on it, and knowing my history of weight gain there's no way in hell I'd take anything with that side effect - maybe that makes me shallow I don't know, but if it does, that's fine by me

LOL
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

no.. IUD's don't cause cancer, but they're only recommended for people in monogomous relationships - usually a doctor will not prescribe one to someone who is using it as a form of birth control for casual sex because the risk is a bit higher for STD's etc. It's got a higher safety rate than any other BC (it's the only one that's 99.9%) and the biggest risk is that it can pierce your uterus, but of course with any prescription that's like the biggest side effect that 1 in 98472987423894 people get

Worked up over nothing. I've taken more painful shits. It was a mild cramp, at worst.

She told me I had a long and narrow vagina, so she had a hard time finding the right speculum to use on me. She used her regular one, but there was too much speculum in the way, then she tried her smaller one, and while it fit in width, it wouldnt go back far enough.
So like the Three Bear's story, the third one was a longer and more narrow one which fit fine.

Anyway, how this procedure goes is:
She inserted the speculum and cleaned my cervix off with a small amount of soap and water on a qtip. Then she took some little tool and clamped it on my cervix and tugged to straighten it out (that was where it started to cramp). Then she took a ruler type device and measured from the top of my uterus to...wherever she measured to. Then she took the tube that had the Mirena which is shaped like a T and pulled it in the tube so that the little arms were above the body of it. Slid in and pushed it out so the arms were back out (T). So it was like a dolly bolt, it stayed in while she pulled the rest of the tube out. Then she trimmed the strings to fit and will trim them even more next week after the Mirena has settled.

Not really cramp, just mild annoyingness. It's probably mostly from the speculums, they always hurt me.
